whats the verdict???

Looks quite good. The feet of the crisis suits could do with a bit more highlighting and shading. They look a bit flat at the moment.

im getting to that lol, i just didnt like to look of them high lighted, just trying to figure out what to do with em

Looks good - not sure on the yellow head though!

They all look really good. the only thing I can thnk of adding is some kind of unit/army markings. Everything looks too similar and undistinguished. Get some kill markings on your favourite/most effective units

Very nice work. I like the color green and your highlgihts look great. I would imagine a table full of these models is quite stunning and impressive. Nice work on the details too, the lens look great.

what about the white isnt good?, i only bought the tau to learn highlights and getting no brush strokes lol, so any help with any of it will be great

oh and the feet arnt finished, im just not sure what to do with them yet

White is very hard to get right. the next step would be to shade the white but highlighting it again is where I find it to get difficult.

If it were me, and this is just and opinion. I would change the color of the feet to maybe a blue or something.
It would be easier to paint and not stand out so starkly next to the green and metallics.

Anyway they'll look good either way.

You could blend up from a very light grey into a white color on the feet. It would take a long time to look nice but it would add a lot.

Also I think the green highlights are a little think. I personally like thinner sharper highlights.

But your lenses/eyes look very nice.

cheers, i thought the same on the highlights but the edges are rounded and it looked a lil off realy thin but i guess thats why i bought fire warriors lol

so maybe try a simple nnm silver on the feet? i might try that soon

They would look like they had a great jungle camo if you added some black stripes across the suits. Agreed with the yellow head, not sure it fits....

The optical lenses are top drawer! I also like the bold choice of green.

cheers, i realy tried to make them pop, the yellow helmet is to represent the shas'o (comander), bone are shav'vre and black are shas'ui. im not keen on cammo patterns nor the tau markings lol dunno tho i only got em to get me ready for the eldar army i got planned, il post some pics of the fire warriors when im finished

For the kroot, keep adding layers of thin paint to them, building up a solid color then start ti add another color thats lighter on the tops if the muscles in thin layers.

They look good I'm not sure if sticking poles up their ***** is a suitable thing lol

might i suggest a Greenish yellow tinge to be used on the corner edges of the green for extra pop with the highlighting also to make shore that the lines stay thin. To do this you could use Scorpion green than for yellows i use Vallejo pains a Amirillo marina yellow would do the rick maybe a bad moon yellow or something for GW. Also for the heads and feet id go a crimson red look it would make the work on the green stand out better and reds are easy to tone and highlight.

LOVE the yellow sensor array (or 'head' if you want to be boring). If they were my models i would have yellow heads all around!.

Very nice for your first Tau models! I like the idea of doing the team leader's head in a different color from the rest of the squad. Consider the idea stolen!

The paintjob is actually pretty good. The combination of beige and green, though, isn't something i'd choose myself. Maybe because it creates too high a contrast on the suits. But on the other hand, it actually look great on those skimmers (Devilfish is it?) and the Drones!

Well, get some stuff onto their bases and it might just be the dot over the "i"!
