So, recently I got in to the WHFB world via painting contest. Did a 1000 point random army in a month, and I drew Skaven.

Now, I have a the Skaven half of the Isles of Blood box, plus a box of night runners.

I played a few games, and I have to say, I liked it! And not EVERYONE is playing Space Marines.... so theres that.

I have fallen in love with my rats, but then I learn I can take another army and SMOOSH them together!

And who else do I wanna model the most? (besides zombies of course)

DAEMONS!

And Reading up on the Skaven, Clan Pestilens LOVES daemons! Particularly Nurgle! And, if you know my love of plague and zombies, you know I like Nurgle.

So, I'm here to ask for YOUR help on forming a well rounded list, based on Skaven/Daemon, Pestilens idea?

Well, the most likely reason no one has posted is that generally, you cannot combine armies in standard games. The alliance list is mostly for campaign and special reasons. You would never be allowed to combine lists for any kind of tournament or random gaming at a store (unless they encouraged it)

Remember, your hobby is whatever you want. If you want to combine them, go for it! But it would strictly be what you want to do...

BTW...your rat ogres look great ! I love the white fur!

Actually a single player runnnig two allied armies is hinted in the BRB, as long as both armies use legal lists you shouldn't have problems finding friendly games, no tournaments though.

What I would do is make your rats Nurgle themed. Make them bloated, and diseased looking.

If you like daemons and skaven I would say the first thing you should do is get a verminlord, as he is the skaven daemon after all, also he's a pretty wicked solitary level 4 caster who smashes people apart in close combat. Though you can't use him untill 2000 points and he would take up your entire lord allowance at that point.

You might be hard pressed to find opponents who'll let you add units from other books.
Maybe you should look at kitbashing some models and coming up with a counts as.

Try a mix of plague monks with storm vermin, to be storm vermin. Might work out well.

Correct me if I'm completely misinterpreting this, but isn't there a whole section on alliances in the BRB? Page 136 or something?

I was just at GW tonight and no one said anything, in fact, thats why I remember the exact page.

That section's intended for multi-player games; large battles where armies can have rules for interacting. Of course, it's your game as much as anyone else's. If you can convince your clubmates/friends to try playing that way, you can give it a go.
