I have finished my first Tau battlesuit in district 9 colors. More specifically, the colors of the robot at the end. I didn't want to paint it black becaue I'm not very good at making black look good, looks I spray painted it and was done; so I used the darkest gray I had around. I haven't done any conversions because it's a forgeworld, which is preety and expensive, so I didn't want to mess it up.

Also, please vote for it in my gallery. Family is not the best way to get a proper critique.

I wanted to make look like he had just landed from a quick jump, but I got the legs mixed up. So now he looks like he's about to jump backwards. I put the shield up to make it look like he's about to jump away from incoming fire.

And that's what pushes this to be a really great modelling job.

I've also tried it on a basic troop, so I plan on taking the rest of my brother's army and repainting them.

Have never seen district 9 -- as I got a real 'Area 51' arcade game vibe from it and looked goophy to me, but your crisis suit looks amazing! Nice work!

Bad thing about dynamic poses though, is that one of the ankles broke and it's only holding on by the other ankle.

It IS a really good movie that has far more substance to it than you may think.

Well then maybe I will consider renting it, thanks for the insight

The colors are very striking and work together really well. I do feel like the Grey needs some highlighting on it, as it looks a little flat right now, but other than that, it looks great!

Nice work, i have always been put of tau because of the rather stiff/toy looking battle suits but yours has managed to make me change my opinion.

The forgworld Tau have knee joints, so it's easier.

Good defense is the best form of offense, the pose is really nice.

Element if you still haven't seen D9, do yourself a favor and rent it
