An excellent first attempt mate you should be super proud. I've just completed my own first attempt at wet blending. Can I ask what colours you used? I would like to do some lighning claws in a similar colour scheme.

Did you use slow dry/drying retarant at all? If so, did you find that it made your paints too thick?

Sorry for all the questions man, I just think were at a similar level so would be cool to hear how you went about it.

Look great for a first attempt. I am still waiting to try out wet blending on my terms. I once saw a fantastic tutorial of someone who did it with oil paints, as they tend to give a better blend. Nice work on your though, fantastic color choice. The overall appearance of your character looks amazing!

Ive not seen that vid but I use a ddrying retardant when i try it out and that gives the paints, not so much an oily texture, but certainly allows you to push colours back and forth a little bit more.

Also, Richie Tenenbaum is amazing!

Blending looks great!

I had a quick question about thinning the Asurmen wash. Does it effect it's properties at all? I am needing a light glaze of blue on some models I am working on, I want it to settle like the wash does but much lighter so as not to cover my layering. So, you can thin washes with water and have it behave the same? Does it separate if you don't keep it mixed up? Thanks.

If I could offer my input.

The wet blending is nicley done, gives good flow to the hammer.

The head of the marine looks like it is standing out quite far from his body, I've have a similar problem with my Close Combat sergent, looks like he has a bull neck mixed with giraffe neck.

over all great model.

What Armour is that?

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I Die, You are forgiven. If I Live, I will kill you." Such is the Rule of Honor.

I like this very much. The transitions are very smooth and the colour scheme is nicely put together. I have a thing about OTT colours, and the subdued tones you've used are excellent. The fact that this was your first go is impressive.
