I ask because I just finished it. 12 episodes, and I didn't hate a single one. Honestly, one of the best animes I have watched. Ever. A little rundown of what it's about (For those who haven't seen it). Zombie outbreak worldwide. During the middle of a Japanese school day. The outbreak is almost exactly the same one from World War Z. It chronicles the events of some classmates as they try to survive, expand their relationships and go home. The only complaint it there is an over the top amount of "fan service". So, yah, not for the kiddes. How ever, apart from one episode, its easy to ignore. I would highly suggest it to anyone looking for a fething good show to watch. Also, it has the, what I call, "FUN-VEE". And the dude from Shaun of the Dead. Any of the other dakka members seen this awesome show?

I must admit I've not heard of the series,but then again I dislike most anime so don't actively seek it out.
I may have to have a look at this though.

Ok..after reading HappyGrunts recommendation I spent the better part of yesterday afternoon watching HOTD..
Overall...not bad,the first 6 episodes were actually pretty good..the final 6..I found so-so.
Not being a big fan of anime,I did find most of the dialogue OTT...and of course some of the storyline devolved into typical anime-esque content..
But..I did for the most point enjoy the story,it definitely won't be everyone's cup of tea...but if your a fan of the zombie genre ...give it a look.
My rating..C+

Just watched the first, and so far its good.
But the episode was quit short. So can't give an opinion based on that.

 Seems a lot of anime is like that...and HOTD is no exception...there is a lot of gratuitous (though mostly PG-13) T&A all through the episodes.

It does descended into "any excuse to show cheek" from time to time,and I found it somewhat amusing that the school nurses "Attributes" had their own sound effects...
But as I said,that does seem to be a trait of some anime.

HOTD is probably one of the most interesting zombie horrors I've ever seen. It's almost a mock of the entire genre. I'm hoping that they make another series to continue the story of the manga.

Same as the show. Sadly it is scanned sporatically now. It seemed pretty solid up to chapter 27, but it took months for anyone to translate 28 and it's been pretty dead far as I can tell ever since.
The anime roughly covers chapters 1-17 (Edit)

I've actually found the lack of scanlation for HOTD odd. On several sites it appears in the top 10 or 20. I understand that the manga went on Hiatus for a year at one point but I haven't heard anything else (not that I'm an avid manga reader. I have a few I like. I read them. That's about it, and I don't really follow up much).
