I'm pretty much done building what I need for my other army, Can Opener.
I was going to build 2000pts but the event I was planning to attend changed the pts requirement to 1850.
I'm going to wait till the weather gets warmer before I start painting.

Meanwhile...

Here is another army I've decided to work on. This one will be 1850 and will utilize a couple things I love... Lascannons and Razorbacks.

It'll have 3 tac squads, 2 devastator squads, 1 Sternguard squad, and a captain... oh and 6 razorbacks.

Here is what I have built so far...

Here is one of the Devastator Squads.

Here are some Sergeants. The one with the 'signum' is for another dev squad and the three with bolt pistols and power fists are for the tac squads. The power fists came from the commander kit, the assault marine kit, and the dev squad kit.

Here are the plasma cannon marines for the tac squads.

Here are two meltagun marines for the tac squads. I still need to build one more.

Here are seven of the boltgun marines for one of the tac squads. These are from the AoBR starter set. I have seven more boltgun marines built from the tac squad box. I still need to make seven more for the third tac squad... I might go for another AoBR box for those because I'm looking for the Dread w/ MM for another project.

Sweet lord man would you stay in one place

Looks good, will the colour scheme follow that of your other SM force so that you can also mix the two or will this be a completely different army?

No trees were hurt in the making of this sig, however many electrons were disturbed.

'Can Opener' will be a Salamanders army and 'Crazorback' will be Ultramarines... or I might go for this color and make them both part of a home brew chapter.

Here is a twin-linked Lascannon for a Razorback.

This rhino actually was from the Razorback kit...

...I made the mistake of gluing down the hatches -_- .... no more Razorback for this puppy.

Thanks for the tip... I'll try that right now.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I was able to get it off... but the hatch/panel is so mangled now I can't use it... but its cool I can always cover it with plasticard... or I can just pull off the lascannon if I want to play it as a rhino.

A couple kits that came in the mail... I ordered these from GW... mostly just to use up the last of my PayPal account

More devastators... this will give me 2 more lascannons for Crazorback.

Bought the last razorbacks from the local game store here in SLO

The last razorback at the store I sometimes visit in the Bay Area.

Another box of devastators... this was ordered from GW... I actually ordered 2 because I forgot about an earlier box of devs that I bought. So... I'll have 2 more lascannons for 'Crazorback' and more heavy weapons to use for other lists.

My sternguard squad... I ordered 5 veterans with combi-weapon. I love the sculpt of the Vets... its a shame that there aren't more poses with combi-weapon using vets.

here is a closer up shot of the combi-weapon vet... comes with combi-plasma and combi-melta.

This will be my captain for Crazorback... I plan to chop off the regular bolter and replace it with a combi-melta from the commander kit.

I'm planning to use these colors with the army. Go Ultrasmurf!

ah... I can never get tired of the rhino chassis...

This is mah Oh!face!

Another Crazorback in the making.

This is the first gunner I've ever constructed... usually I don't use the bits for it... on a whim I decided to try my hand at it... I am very pleased with the results... I'm going to start building them when the bits are available.

A hunter killer missile. I'm not using them in the Crazorback list but I thought to just build them in the event I do make a list that uses them.

Hatches to cover up the holes when not equiped with pintle mounted storm bolter, default storm bolter, or hunter killer missile.

I was able to get the top back hatch off of the rhino chassis that had it glued down.

The edges are kind of rough... the lascannon option doesn't cleanly fit... for the meantime I can live with it... until I buy more razorbacks

This was a stormbolter... but it snapped off... I can glue the stormbolter back on but my Crazorbacks don't normally use a stormbolter or hk missiles... at least not in this list.

Here are four of the six Crazorbacks that I need.

4 stormbolter pieces... three are built without the gunner... thats what I used to do with the pintle mount bits... on the end is the first one built with a gunner. I'll do more of those.

more HK missiles and hatch covers.

Here are two more Lascannon Devastators... this should finish up the 8 total that I need.

Here are the 2 lascannon devs built and ready to take their place next to their battle brothers.

Here are my Sternguard... all clean and ready to be built. They each will have a combi-melta.

Here are the Sternguard all built and ready for priming.

Here is one of the combi melta vets.

Here is the Captain... made from a sternguard with PF and boltgun... and some bits from the commander kit (iron halo and backpack).

Here is another view of the Captain. His hand is chopped off because I'm replacing the boltgun with a combi-melta.

yay another commander kit... all for just a combi-melta

I gave my captain his combi-melta... I pinned it to ensure it'll stay put.

Here is another view of the combi-melta.

Here is a rear view of the captain. I used a backpack from the commander kit as well as the iron halo.

I've been fooling around with drilling lately and decided to try it on the captain's combi-melta... it's kind of askew I think.

The captain is sooo awesome that he melted the face right off of this termie.

No painting yet. I might start middle of the month though. The weather is getting better for spray paint so i should be able to get stuff primed with little trouble.

True, spraying in the rain tends not to work. Any idea about how you will paint them and what the army lists will look like, I mean are you working towards a set army or just what takes your fancy?

I'm going to make this army an Ultramarines army. They were the first 40k army I played... This project is actually an homage to some of the lists I used to run when I first learned how to play. It includes Razorbacks with lascannons which I used to run alot... My buddies used to call them Crazorbacks due to the choice of something as powerful as a twin-linked Lascannon for them. The dev squads use Lascannons which I used to use alot more so than razorbacks.

I am halting work on this project.

I have a new project... concentrate on paying off one of my credit cards. Some of the models in this thread I will put up for sale. When I get the card paid off I will consider continuing. And when I continue it might be a different list altogether utilizing Blood Angels rather than Vanilla Marines.
