This is my first EVER conversion! It's a fail cos of the 2 right hands but o well.... btw its still a WIP. Head will eventually be replaced by a helmet.

I like the idea of the under-slung chainsaw (a la Gears of War) but if I might make a suggestion: Shave down the grip area under the barrel, or even reposition the barrel higher, so that the blade's more flush with the rest of the gun. Right now, that gap between the chainsaw and the clip is kinda weird.

M1 garands take clips, bolt action rifles take clips, everything else generally uses a magazine.

I also agree though, a more integral looking chainsaw would make the look more complete, and I would suggest getting a left arm if you can find one lmao.

It won't take much to just swap the right hand with a left one.

Just cut off at the wrist, and cut off the gun above the pistol rip. Fit a suitable left hand and replace (carefully)

I have done it from time to time and it can work quite well.

The top is what you've got now, the bottom is what I'd do. I don't know if it's technically accurate (since I don't know the difference between a clip and a magazine...) but it would look better.

For left hands, some assault marines have guns in their left hands. If you don't want to buy a box, just see if a friend has a spare arm.

Also to fix your 2 right hands, just take a chainsword arm, and cut the chainsword off. I had a squad of assault marines once that had all pistols and I had to do that for the duel wield look. Its as easy as using a razor blade, and slicing it flat just above the hand. Presto change-o. Looking good for a first attempt for sure

That looks like a really thick, detail obscuring black base coat.

its a 2nd coat cos the 1st wasn't that good. pic makes it look that way. Btw i hve no AM's and i wont be getting anything (green stuff, models) until august. bushido thanx 4 the pic. will try tht when i hve time.

Will the chainsword motor fit under the bolter?

Might make the transition from chainblade to weapon a bit gentler.

chainsword motor is fine. i perposely made the motor end shorter than the other one so it would fit

Well i had some spare time 2day and got around 2 meh sarge. found his old left hand that was pointing @ something,
modded it and stuck it on, changed the mags by taking the curve out and cut off the grip under the barrel to make the chainsaw bayonets
more snug looking. Take a look @ the pics!
(please dont complain abt the paint job, im only new!)

If I could get pics up I would show you guys some conversons Ive done using the chainsword and bolter. Ill tell you guys how I did it.

I leave the engine block on the chainsword, completly remove the grip. I personally like to shorten the blade. On the bolter I leave space for the marine to hold the front grip I also remove the little tab just under the bolter's barrel. Then I glue the engine block to the under side of the barrel where the tab once was. It looks great this way, and looks more like a bayonette but with a chainsword instead of a knife. I have also done this with a melta gun it looks sweet as well, but it looks better with a chaos chainsword, the one that has the teeth on both sides and is rounded. I removed all the chaos icons and I attached the chainsword right to the underside of the barrel it looks best that way on the melta gun.

the chainsword and bolter part is the same as how i did this!

Well had some more spare time 2day and found of whole heap of parts off the marine
i got most of the parts off for the sgt. lost of glue, ripped skin, lost of sore fingers and some
blood later (slipped with the scapel o well BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!)
i made a combat shield out of the base for my librarian and a sm/ork hybrid (A NOB )
using a should pad and backpack 4 armour and a creative idea about where
nobs come frm. Wanna hear? ok!
Once apon a time there was some crazy SM's called Ultramarines.
The got and ork boy and gave him most of the implants and brainwashed him.
All he had to make him look like part of the UM army was a shoulder pad with a white U
on it and a backpack. In one battle against orks, a warboss (his old one) recognised him
and reminded him about his old life. Ork/SM hybrid 0154 hasn't be see since.
