Ghazkull is a pretty nice model, but If im going to spend that much id rather get the killa kanz money wise. So I took leftover parts and made one. Wet because I was trying to dry the glue faster, may redo backpack and have a ton of rivets to put on, but ran out of glue Third pic is for size comparison.

Interesting.

I picked up a used Ghax model from ebay for $20. It was disassembled and stripped, but complete. I used it to make a mega warboss. Pic in my gallery if you want to see it.

Whats my game?

I feel like some special characters are better to fork out the $$ than to custom in this fashion.

That being said, I really like the back of this model. Also, really like the power klaw. Good job.

Maybe some more pics of the gun arm side?

Kudos on taking the DIY approach. There are a few things, though, that don't really work for me about the armor you've added, so on to the (hopefully) constructive criticism!

The plasticard work around the torso, for one, is rather square and flat. A little variation from extra layers, rivets, and/or roughing up the edges would go a long way.

The biggest issues I see, though, are the boots and the shoulder armor. Right now, it looks a bit like he stepped in two orky cardboard boxes and had a bulkead cracked over his skull. Ork mega armor is bulky and unwieldy, to be sure, but even those clunky forms vaguely approximate the forms underneath. Personally, I'd scrap the top and go with a fresh plasticard build that actually has curves/angles that go up and over the shoulder.

The boots can and should be kept blocky, but something either more close-fitting or foot shaped would be an improvement, I think. I can see that he has bionic legs, so simply covering the boots isn't an option, but orky bioniks tend to result in mekanikal caricatures of organic forms (from PKs and eye-targeters right up to dreads and stompas). Not to say your current shape isn't organic, of course. I'm sure that some planet in the 41st millenium contains polygonal elephants.

I like that the backpack is a jumble of several races' tech, but I think something with a tad more order might fit better. Not an actual machine, but at least some pipes ,hoses, and wires connecting the individual elements to give the illusion of function.

Yes I went and redid alot of the stuff that bothered me, although it isnt ghaz 100 precent, did the best with what I could. Redid the backpack for more function, the power source is on the side now although the pic is blurry so eh, and those arent bionic legs, those are heavy hydraulics behind the legs and on the side, you cant actually see the legs anymore even though there there heh. Redid the klaw to be more menacing, and added his signature smoke launchers on the top to go with his signature huge metal jaw, metal faceplate, and tusks. I dont really think anyone will have a problem with me running him as ghazkull. And while ghazkull IS a better model, it was the difference of 35 dollars I dont have, compared to random leftover junk I do have. And I can put that money toward the fantastic new killa kanz, as my old ones look junky in comparison (and not in the good ork way) Anyway:

Next is rivet madness (sigh I need a leather hole punch badly) and then hopefully painting, although Im pretty lazy at painting.

He Certainly looks like he has plenty of Dakka, nicely done conversion.

Well hopefully the paint will pull it together more.

So I have been told that my model dosent look like ghaz, and I should just run him as a warboss in mega armor. In private mails and at my FLGS. But models do change aperance over the years, how many times has dante changed his look? Please dont send more messages saying it looks nothing like ghaz, play him something else, ect...

Peliminary paint done, still have to touch up the paint splotches, add damage and weathering, and do the base, but this gives you an idea of the paint scheme. Went ahead and matched him to my army as opposed to the black ghaz armor, just to avoid future complaints.

Someone who fights as much as Ghaz will be constantly replacing bits of his armour as it gets damaged - from one year to the next, it may well look completely different. Looks like a perfectly reasonable Ghaz to me.

I gotta say I had my doubts from the start of the posting, but you certainly made it look very good. Nice work.

One thing I would try to change is the checker pattern you have on the side of the legs. They are a little awkward, maybe try making the checkers in smaller squares and give them some scratch marks.

Also the tape around the gun shouldn't be metallic.

He looks a thousand times better painted, and if not ghazkull, you could always use him as a mega armoured warboss
