Hi
Got my first grotesque finished. Got another very similar on the way, and 2 quite different underway.
This is my first conversion for a long time, so i didnt want to bite off more than i could chew so there are a few bits i would like to improve, like potentially adding stitches, and to bring tubes from mask going into the neck. But these are acceptable to me, i like to think he was grown by a heamonculus "organically" not stitched together from scraps. Going to add some tattoos on him, my coven is the altered (to keep tattoos and flesh carvings simple). Also would have liked armoured legs maybe, but a dyper and muscly legs was easier
Was funny as GW today posted pictures for june release, and my helmet looks very similar to the first image they have given us a sneak peak of.
Paint job isnt of an amazing standard, but my figures are to play with, not be displayed. I took quite a while over getting the metal looking nice and rusty, but that was more effort than the rest of the paint job.
feedback would be very welcome, as have other similar projects underway, and once i done my grotesques going to try wracks, as i havent seen any wrack conversions i really like yet.

Thrud lives! He looks really nice with the OTT musculature. My only criticism would be that perhaps he's too tanned for a dark eldar creation?
Rusty bits are top work, too.

@Necroagogo yeah, he does look quite tanned in photos, but his skin is GW dhened stone, so is pretty pale. I may go for a dehneb white mix highlight him goth him up a bit.
@army310 I will try make a list of parts i used:
Body: mostly a Reaper Miniature i bought called a clay golem, saw it in a role playing shop, and instantly bought two as thought was perfect for my gortesque, just changed arms/existing arms positions.(and cut off head)
head: On this model the head is a reaver helmet, which i was originally going to use as on reavers, and cut slits in the front, and mount and blend into neck like i have (i have done this on another model) but i flipped it over, so the front of the mask is the top of the helmet, to get the orginal look that also looks dark eldarish.
flesh gauntlet: Old school dark eldar lord glove, arm cut off.
Drug vials: all drug vials including ones on glove are diodes with a leg cut off, drilled and glued in.
Chain is left over from wyches kit, spike on back and spine spike thing leftover from ravager kit.
Based with few bits from 40K basing kit.
I am working on one using a tyranid body as base, but heavily green stuffed to make it unrecognisable, and i have some bits that are chaos for arms etc. I did want to try to avoid this as a lot of conversions of the grotesques either look chaos or like a tyranid. I do also have a grotesque on the go which is entirely greenstuff so far, just going to be plastic weapons and details. (may turn out to be rubbish)
