I have started to build my self a Thunderhawk gunship to get my blood angles ready for apocalypse. I´m using some plans I found online as a starting point.
The basic shape of the airframe will be built in foamcore and I intend to cover it with plasticard panels to get some details and structured surface on it.

Enough talk! Here is some wip pictures of my progress thus fare

A smal update...

started working on the cockpit... made of plasticard

it fits rather well, so I´m pretty pleased. Of course there is lots of details left before it´s done

Glued the tail together, made of foamboard...

while the cockpit and the tail dried I started to work on the engines. This part is going to be the biggest challenges to get right...

I´m still waiting for the weapons to arrive from GW in the post this week

Not to hijack or anything, but may I suggest using already built 'engines' for it? A lot of the scratchbuild T-hawks are using the pod-racer engines. Link below to a quick ebay ad

Subbed! I have always wanted to make a thunderhawk and will watch this threat with interest!
The basic frame looks perfect so far, like you said, adding the details is going to make it look amazing!

PS-thanks for posting the link to the TH plans! I have been looking for one for months now!

The bitz I ordered from GW finally arrived... two of the Landraider Terminus ultra conversion kits should be enough for weapons.
The only thing I need in weaponry is four more rockets from the valkyria kit... no idea how I could get my hands on them (not interested in buying two more valkyrias...)

started on detailing the hawk. Long way to go

It´s not that slow... but work and girlfriend takes upp my time so I can´t spend very much time on the hawk.
It should be done in a couple of weeks or so I hope

Good Effort! (scots for wow) Keep up the awesome work.

Can i say also that the way you have photographed your progress in stages is very professional and shows a great deal of talent for commentary, perhaps you should be a journalist?
