Death-Dealing Devastator

U.K.

Well heres my attempt at a Crowe model using the plastic grey knights kit and the axe from Chaos terminator lord box

also any ideas on painting, im thinking painting them non-metalic grey ( just to get away from metal colours)

or maybe red like in the old demon hunters codex, but do i keep my palette dark and mysterious like the grey knight fluff

or do i have it bright and vibrant like the old english red coats screaming "im over here, and i am not afraid of you!"

Probably work

God, those storm bolters are huge on those guys. The GW pictures always do a decent job of hiding it.

Anyway, I like the pose though, it's very "I'm a badass". I always liked red and gold, though I think the Purifiers are traditionally white/boltgun.

I hate painting white as it is because it always goes grainy on me

was thinking more red and boltgun for trims, or purple and gold maybe... for my purifiers was only going to paint one shoulder white

means when i take my army to the 2000+ points margin i can tie them all together but still spot my squads easyily.

and yea the storm bolters a crazy big on them, i think they took the plastic terminator ones and just strapped em to the PAGK kit,

also hate the clips.... prefered the older ones but small sacrifaices for shiney new toys

He looks similar to my Knight of the Flame!

I like. I approve, I really enjoy plastic versions of crazy expensive metal minis.

Looks good to me. Stands out sufficiently so that there's no confusion. Not that it matters with "Oh, gee, I hope nobody assaults me while I'm out here wondering all by my lonesome" Crowe.

Can't wait to see it painted.

Nice touch with the axe you chose since it has a demon Would've preferred to just take a regular blade and carve in some runes its just my opinion. It seems like the only bit that wasnt from the PAGK box was the axe Nice Conversion

i still dont know weather to go for my grey idea instead of gunmetal or purple or red....... red because of some minis i saw in the old demon hunters codex and purple becuase if you keep it dark enough its mysterious or on the flip side nice and light to look important..... bah!

Purple and red clash in my opinion, use one or the other, personally i would use purple as a secondary colour,
why not have silver-grey for the armour, white head and then do smaller bits of the armour in purple? like a senior purifier.

(little random thought train,
purple was the most expensive dye in roman times so only the rich/important had purple stuff,
the codex astartes is basically romanizing spess mahreens,
purple spess mahreens=the most important ones?
the more purple=more important?)

Keep the pointing arm's angle alittle higher.

Right now it lacks any authority or confidence.

I think this is a great conversion.

You might confuse some of your opponents with him because Crowe has a sword not an axe. Probably shouldn't be too big a problem though.

I also agree that the cost of the single metal character for GK's is ridiculous. $20 for single marine model? What's worse is that the plastic PAGK box can make a model that literally looks exactly like Crowe in almost the exact same pose. Add some bits and demon up the sword and you have an instant Crowe conversion.
