Thinking I want to give some of my vets shotguns but most of the conversions are really annoying. Came across these two I actually like. Like the first better.

Pump action using flamer backwards this is probably the easiest that I seen but getting all those flamers :(

Auto shottie kinda looks a bit similar to a grenade launcher so thinking the above conversion might be better and easier.

Any other ideas?

I'm using crossbows from various Warhammer models as mine. Cut off the lathe and stick a barrel on the end for the short way, or try something a little more inventive like building up the body with some plasticard or greenstuff...then add the barrel or drill a hole in the end. I'm using the Dark Elf ones for my vets-purely because they're the only arms that fit them- though the ones in the Empire Militia box work fine too; though you get a lot less of them.

Alternatively you'll find loads of examples just by searching things like "plasticard shotguns" or "lasgun shotguns". I haven't acess to my own computer right now, so I can't give you any definate links. =/

buy necromunda shotguns or maximini shotguns. They look better than conversions.

Heres my Veterans for the Svog 227th (Yes, an entire IG army of skeletons)
Just cut off the tip from a Lasgun and drilled a hole for the barrel. Looks good enough for me.

I did this cause the SM Scout Shotguns are too hard for my army to convert, and didn't want to go outside GW's range.

Thats actually a pretty nice idea, looks good on top of it!

I went the flamer-into-shotgun route, since I had a lot of flamers I didn't use.

I'm pretty pleased with the results from using the SM scout shotguns.

It's not hard to either attach the arms to cadian shoulder pads, or to sand the SM pads into the shape of cadian pads as I did.

Alternatively, there's many other sources for shotguns, including:

-Hasslefree miniatures. Several different options there, many of which can be ordered from Rattlehead games in the USA.

-Void Junker Weapons packs

Interestingly, it's very possible that both of the above 2 options were done by Kev White, owner of Hasslefree, and one of the early prime sculptors for I-Kore (original maker of Void).

Quick and easy, uses the grenade launcher bit as a base along with the bits of flamer and las gun tips.

Maxmini shotguns are TINY. They really would not work well for a conversion unless you wanted to make a "combi" type weapon with an under-slung shotgun option under another weapon type.

I'm building a Cult for 40K and last night I was messing around with a drum-fed shotgun from Lasgun idea I saw on Dakka because I want more shotguns. Somehow I decided to make an auto (assault) shotgun from the Flamer instead but it looks different than the one in your link. I'll post a pic of it later tonight. You may or may not like it, but it was really easy to make once I "saw" it in the model.

Subbed so I remember to come back.
