I am currently painting up a model for a friend, but I'm really stuck.

It's this girl:

And I'm putting her on this (not completely finished, but you get the idea) base:

Now, the thing I need help with is what colour to do her jumpsuit.
I'm going to make her skin pale and her hair a bright orange/red, and I want her to really "pop" against that quite grey base.
I was thinking blue, going from Mordian up to Enchanted. But I'm really not sure.

Any ideas, good people of Dakka?

Yellow would go well I feel, especially if you add in black accents.

For some reason black popped into my head.

Hmm, yellow. Yeah, it could work. Especially with black bits, yum.
But I don't know I'm really up to the task of painting that, it's a real chore.

Prime white, then use yellow ink?

Or just get a yellow spray.

She is already primed black, but I guess I could lighten her up with some greys.
But would it contrast nicely with her pale skin, I wonder? I have an old pot of Bad Moon Yellow, and that's it.

Yellow goes with it I would say.

As soon as I saw the model and the base, I immediately thought of the steampunk colours (its the massive cog I think), which are brown, tan, yellow and cream. A nice bright shock of red hair would top it off nicely.

If you definitely want to go the shocking/garish colour scheme, then blue or green (depending on how "red" the hair goes) would work fine. Just pick the opposite colour to the hair colour and off you go.

Heh, that's funny. I just started doing it a tan colour.
I also thought of a green. Might go that route if I don't get the tan right.

I was thinking it would pop from the base in a retro silver jump suit with orange accents. Maybe with purple hair.

Kinda like this woman from an old 60s TV show called "U.F.O."

She's finished!
I posted her in the Showcase, so she is found here.
