A friend of mine came to be just recently because she was wondering if I could fix her energy sword for one of her halo action figures
now I know this isn't "modeling" necessarily but I think that knowing how to fix this would be able to help me fix future things. The basic problem with this is that its two blade have come off of the handle (I've included a picture) Glue alone isn't working and that's probably because the two blades are so small and won't stay when I glue.

Any recommendations, tips, or ideas to fix this would be helpful

What glue are you using? I've tried plastic glue on McFarlane halo toys before and it doesn't work. It's not the same type of plastic. Try super glue, that might work.

Just try super glue, and then file down any scraggly edges (uneven surfaces) created by the super glue.

many action figures are more of a vinyl type of plastic, are the blades kinda flexible? If so the super glue probably won't do you much good either but you may have good results with the cement that plumbers use to put together PVC (plastic) pipe

The Mcfarlane blades are hard plastic. Super glue works to fix Mcfarlane figures just fine.

Why not just pin it ? Drill holes on either side of the handle and put some pieces of wire/paperclip/w/e into the hole with a little bit of cement/glue. Then push the ends of the wire into the softer blade material very gently or drill holes in it as well if it is harder plastic. It should give it a bit more strength and hold longer.

Yeah I'd definitely try to pin it with super glue holding every thing together. A totally extreme idea that probably wouldn't work would be to try and melt the two blades back into the main section.

Peace through superior firepower.

I've tried using super glue but I can't get the blades to stay in place because they're too thin (they just fall back off even though I try and hold them in place)
same goes for pinning, the blades are too thin for my drill

Hmmmm...... Perhaps greenstuff, a tiny tiny bit with a bit of super glue.

Apply super glue, hold with fingers until super glue dries. Don't just put the super glue on, set it down, and hope they don't immediately fall off. Physics, man.

+1. super glue should work, you just need to apply pressure until it dries.

Somewhere in south-central England.

Fix the pieces in place with Blu Tac while the cement dries.

Do one blade at a time.

If super glue doesn't work, try epoxy cement.
