Spawn of Chaos

Is there a definitive answer for what happens to the followers of Chaos after they die? I see a few possibilities but I don't know if any are true.
---Do they suffer an eternity of torment for their evil lives? Possibly as tortured slaves of the gods they followed, or cast to drift in the warp/realm of chaos, constantly hunted by demons for rest of time? Warhammer's version of Hell.
---Are they rewarded for their devotion to their god in some form? Perhaps become demonic soldiers so they can serve their god forever. Or even sent to their god's version of Heaven (constant war for followers of Khorne, huge libraries for followers of Tzeentch.... obvious benefits for followers of Slaanesh.) But then I wonder what followers of Chaos Undivided, like Word Bearers, would receive.
---Do their souls simply meld with their god, destroying their individuality, but becoming part of the god they worshipped and strengthening that god.
I'm sure there are many more possibilities, but those were the most likely to me. I believe the vast majority of chaos followers suffer for the rest of eternity, not for being evil, but for failing their gods in some way. However, a few, the truly succesful, have their essences join their god when they die. What do you think? Is there a definitive answer, or do they leave it up to us?

The CSM codex says that when a CSM dies, his soul goes to join and become one with his god, empowering the god and furthering their goals.
I imagine they become part of his collective might, much like a Eldar Exarch armour, only on a HUGE scale.
A chaos follower who isn't claimed by a God is turnt into a Fury of Chaos, a pitiful thing doomed to eternally have a horrible model and even worse rules...

Yer, if they follow a single god, the soul is owned by that god, adding to its power and ability to craft more deamons. Otherwise the soul becomes a fury.
Although we know that most CSM are really more interested in a more literal sense of immortality by being elevated into deamonhood.

its safe to say that relictors are the greatest army a man , nay human can own.

I heard somewhere that unless they serve their purpose, or do damn good in that gods name they are tortured for eternity.

Lesser Daemon of Chaos

I thought the codex staed that their are only three destinations for a marine once he walks the path of chaos, Daemonhood, Spawdom or oblivion, those who do not become Daemon Princes are considered failures and abandoned.
The novel "daemon world" backs this up when the slaaneshi queen dies and eagerly awaits the eternal bliss of death only to realise that its all a lie and instead it's the cold embrace of nothingness that takes her which is obviously the worst feeling to a being that thrives on sensation. Ultimately non of the gods followers can be content with death; Khornes followers cannot spill anymore blood, Nurgles champions are finally claimed by death that they so feared and tried to stall, Tzeentchs minions will no longer change due to the finality of death and slaaneshs worshippers are denied the sensations they crave, so they all fail, the very fate of oblivion is worse than any torment their gods could inflict.

Champions that prove themselves but don't make it do daemonhood enter the realm of the gods. For most people it would be hell, for them it is heaven.
