Hello everyone. I have recently wanted an IG army, and a few swaps on the swap shop later, I now have some stuff. A few squads of kasrkin and a CCS.

My first IG, and the test model

And my Company Commander.

Though similar to the cadian scheme, I plan on making up some fluff etc for the army. my current WIP is the CCS medic

As I'm sorta bored, so here is some fluff to tie in the new models

* The Commander and Comm specialist surveyed the wreckage of his landing craft. It seemed doubtful anyone else survived, but they made their way to crashed ship.
"*zzzt* Hello? this is Vox Operator Jareth, does anyone copy? *zzzt*"

"I'm here!" came a reply. Turning to see who it was, Jareth and the commander saw that a medic had survived.

"Pvt. Peters; Medic; reporting for duty!" he said, saluting the commander, but their meeting was short lived.

"MEDIC!!!!" came a call from another section of the wreckage, and the team hurried over. When they arrived, they found a guardsman clutching wounds on his leg and arm; a trickle of blood came from a cut under his eye, and a large gash in his shoulder flowed blood down his arm.

"Thank the Emperor you are here.." The guardsman started.
"patch him up." Jareth said, nodding to the medic while readying his lasgun in case of an attack.

I like the models, nice crisp paintjob. I also like the way you add a story to your update. You should come up with new scenes and backgrounds. For example, use the maccrage crashed Aquila lander for a background, if you have that.

Don't worry, I'm planning some 'over the shoulder' shots at my Orks for a further story update, but you'll have to wait for that

Anyone have suggestions of how to paint the flag of the standard bearer?

(GW's picture)

I want to do something cool, but I haven't had time to sit and think of their planets name, if I will add camo patterns to their fatigues, and other things like that, so I have no clue for hearldry. Maybe I'll leave his flag plain till I figure it out.

I'm open for any suggestions, however

Are you going to scrape all the detail off and start off with GS? Either way, you should use a contrasting color. Either way, you don't have much other options then bright colors for your banner. Maybe something with purple?

*
Jareth radioed again *zzzht* "This is Jareth, does anyone copy?" *zzzht* glancing around, Jareth and the commander began to head to another section of the crashed ship, while Peters took care of the wounded man. Lifting up some of the rubble, they peered inside and heard a cough. Making his way out of the debris was another soldier, carrying a flag. Once he made it out, he saluted and unfurled the standard. "I'm alright, Sir. Glad to see you are in one piece.

The commander nodded, replying. "I'm glad the standard survived as well, Johnson." The group of three continued their search, and hearing a noise from the cliff, trained their weapons toward it.
"Its me!" their surly plasma gunner whispered, his cloak billowing in the unnatural breeze.

The squad had been reunited, but there was still much to do. They were on a desolate wasteland, and they we cut off from supplies.

(aka, my setup for an 'actual' fluff update next)

Also, here is the kasrkin I finished.

C&C please

I like the plasma gunner. He has a lot of character for being kept simple. That karskin looks really good. I like the choice of the blue as the spot color on his cabling. I'm glad you went with darker tones on the banner. Helps convey the image that it's been through hell and back. Sometimes I question the ultra-white IG banners.

Thanks
I was trying to give it a grimy look, and badab black on white always gives me the perfect effect.
iirc, the plasma gunner is a Tanith, but I'm not sure, as I got it from a trade.

I attempted slight osl on the plasma gun, but removed the osl from the cloak and his arm as I don't have an airbrush...

[edit] and I use blue as the color for nearly all my wires because I almost always have a contrasting color as the armor, and that color just looks like, well, a real wire color
