Finland... the country next to Sweden? No! That's Norway! Finland is to the east! No! That's Russia!

I was thinking about participating in the Armies on Parade, and was wondering if anyone else was going to join...

I don't have any pictures of my WIP army... But I can describe it a bit.
I'm going to go with Krieg, and I'm going to take a command squad, 2 infantry squads and an LRBT.
The colours are going to be:

Trenchcoat: black, with charadon granite drybrush, followed by a 1:1 mix of charadon granite and khemri brown.
Gasmask: Scorched brown
Metallics: 2:1 mix with Boltgun metal and Chaos black, followed by a boltgun metal highlight.
Aquilas and skulls: mechrite red, baal red and blood red highlight
Eyes: Solar macharius orange

This is my basic idea, I'll make more up as I go along.

Command squad: Company Commander on a 40mm base, standard bearer, Vox, 2 guardsmen with lasguns
Veteran squad 1: Dkok at ease squad. (if you don't know what it is check it from FW)
Veteran squad 2: Custom (most are running others advancing)
Commisar tank: an LRBT with extra aquilas, and Ravenwing aquilas (also an extra heavy flamer and covered tracks)

No, just Nurgle and Slaanesh, Jesus will be sold seperately in a blister.

Don't orks to everything in a hurry?

To glimpse the future, you must look to the past and understand it. Names may change, but human behavior repeats itself. Prophetic insight is nothing more than profound hindsight.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.

It's supposed to look busty, I know, but... It looks like the dirtyness wasn't made intentionally...

Maybe that's just me though.

Very nice armies, guys!

The only problem would be that the Games Day overall winning army can't have any Forgeworld models in it, which is a shame as some of the most unique armies would include them.

For the GW store or regional competition, I'd say they have a great chance, though.

Where does it say that?

It says "Citadel or scratch built models and scenery only". Forge World models fall under the auspices of Citadel, since FW is part of GW.

And if they were to enforce that rule as FW != Citadel then it would be enforced at regional and GW store competitions as well, since the rule is in effect for every level of the competition.

Slugga, if I were you I'd give them a ring and ask about this on Tuesday.

I sent an email with a pic of one of my models with Balrog wings, to confirm that they aren't allowed (being LotR model parts). The response noted that my Forgeworld models couldn't be entered either. They're photographing the winners for White Dwarf and want to show off the armies that can be built using the regular range of Fantasy and 40K models available. Since all my cool models are Forgeworld, it pretty much dismantled my intentions of entering.

There's a UK bank holiday on Monday, so I don't know if their customer service line will be open.

Unless there's a GW Finland that you could get a hold of, that is.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

Do we have a date for this event now? I've actually sold the army I was going to display when I first heard about it at the start of the year as every time I went into my local GW they had no info on it and I gave up...

Edit: Just seen the news article on GW - http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=16400047a

Might have to go into my local again and find out what the deal is

not sure if it's different in the U.S. to here but it actually states that you can use forgeworld on GW website, direct quote

"Joining the Armies on Parade event couldn't be simpler. Here' what you need to enter:

- A 2'x2' board to present your army on. (A Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard section is perfect for this - Ed).
- A General or Army Leader and at least two other units.
- Aside from that, the sky's the limit! Stompas and scenery, Titans and terrain; anything goes, and you can even use Forge World models in your entry as well!"
