I just finished my first Malifaux warband commission. Very cool and fun miniatures to work with.

Hope you like them. For now I will have to go back to painting an army of Warhammer 40k things but either during that time or afterwards I will most probably tackle another Malifaux crew (which I'm really looking forward to).

Comments and criticizm are welcome as always!

The palette is awesome.

Exactly how I pictured Malifaux.

Absolutely spectacular work Sig, I think this may be your best pieces yet! Malifaux really suits your style well!

Excellent selection of colors to create the dusty western feel to these miniatures. Great work in getting the thematically different figs work with Perdita and death marshals. Love than everything has a brownish tint to it.

I like the sepia tone. My only issue is with Perdita. I guess I am not into women that have super tight abs. And the contrast seems rather high on her left knee. Perhaps I am just putting higher standards on her since she is the crew's master. It all comes together really well as a crew.

I have Faith.

I'm not a big fan of the Malifaux aesthetic, personally, but I've got to say, these suit it perfectly. If I wanted the models, I'd want you to paint them, without a doubt.

Hey, thanks for all the very nice comments guys.

On the topic of Perdita - I have to admit that she's probably been the one who gave me the most headaches in this crew, mostly because I'm not totally happy with the colourscheme which is very monochromatic but I wanted to keep the whole crew very tone-in-tone. Maybe I overdid that on Perdita. [@paintedpotato: Not into that abs thing either on women. "Chisled" isn't really the first attribute that comes to my mind when thinking of "attractive female" ]

@oadie: I'm having a kind of schizophrenic relationship with Wyrd's game/miniatures. Overall, I can savor the Malifaux aesthetics and pure craftsmanship you can see in the miniatures and some of them are bloody beautiful (the Guild miniatures, these dancers ladies and some others) and I'd like to see them in my glass showcase but I really wouldn't like to game with these because I'm not able to immerse myself into a game with these people/creatures. Maybe the GW aesthetics and motifs are too deeply rooted in my mind but I couldn't play with the Wyrd minis just like I'm having a very hard time imagining me playing Anima tactics. If that makes any sense. I love to paint them but, despite the very good ruleset, I somehow have a hard time finding playing with them visually attractive.

Sig, mate!

Absolutely wonderful, as always.

However, my only nitpick is the executioner has "stretch marks" on his stomach?

Also, the basing brings down the overall effect. Its just very bland and, as you would already know, good basing can make ordinary paintjobs improve. Therefore, good basing could also emphasise your brilliant painting further.

@AvatarForm: Thanks for the reply. Yus, that's stretch marks or vains shining through the skin or something on the Executioner. :p The basing is supposed to represent somewhat rocky desert. I added some tree stumps and a skull here and there. What else would you have addded?

Here's something to round up the Malifaux commission (the miniature finally arrived on thursday):

He still needs a little touching up here and there but he's mostly done.

This is really tight work. I take it you've worked with this pallet before.
