This is my Chaos Lord I did in about 5hrs... I think it's ready for the Finecast painting competition...
If you see anything wrong, or anything that would make it better, say it... I won't take critisicm in a bad way.

Looks really good. Love the blood oaked snow around the feet Looks like the ground is being corrupted by him just being there.

Also what was the quality on the Finecast like. As alot of people have had bad experiences already?

That's a real beauty. Just, everything about this mini screams Epic Lord of Chaos. Bravo.

Well... in my GW 1 person has had a bad experience from a Finecast mini, and it was when he sprayed a too thick coat of spray on it...

Yeah, like my Crowe who was missing half his backpack... And the new one had no base & I had to resculpt the back of his left hand.

But to the mini itself:

Very nice and simple. Black armour looks good as well as the blood on the ground.

There is a mould line running down the horse's left rear leg, which looks rather nasty to me. Also the horse's skin could use a little extra colour as now it seems a bit flat.

Mate - the pictures are a little tricky to see really fine details, but:
- the blood effect is great (although one might ask how come there are no bloody hoofprints leading up to where they are standing...)
- the black metal armour is excellent, but from a distance it may look a little too dark all over... (this may not be a real issue - clearly the paint job is designed for close inspection, not standing out on a tabletop)
- the horse is also well done, but again looks a solid black colour, making it a little difficult to distinguish from the rest of the model.

of course the last two comments may simply be a result of the slightly blurry photos.

I thought of the hoofprints, but it's pretty hard to do.
Although I could cover any failed blood with more snow...

Suggestions on how to do it?

Love the feet

One quick suggestion i have might be to wash the horse's eye covery things with badab black or brown ink or something just to give them a bit of depth. Unless its just the photos playing tricks again?

Other wise it looks smashing.

The pics do not show up the painting enough to comment.

However, your base is boring.

You need to add at least 2 more textures to it.

Wow this looks amazing and it only took you 5hrs thats a spectacle in itself amazing job! I like the feet alot.

Suggestion on the horse hooves leading up the current position: Make a stamp and stamp out each hoof print. Then paint in a little around it. Each hoof print needs to be a little different since each hoof is different, but with the stamp you have a uniform shape to go on. You could make the stamp out of a potato or some other stiff vegetable.

I normally hate this model but you did a great job and i wish you luck!

Already did the hoofprints...

The model is completely ready, but I can't take pictures of it because it's next to the showcase figures in my GW

I'll see what I can do...

PS: I've done something for each chaos god on the model
Purple highlights on some armour plates, blood coming out of the feet, greenish gold, and the blue tentacle.
