After the resounding success of last month's competition (the winner of which is here), I decided it was time to get the June edition up.

Entries need to be PM'd to me by June 26th, 11pm (EST).

I'll post times for different time zones too:
Uk users -> 27th, 3am
PST users -> 26th, 8pm
German users -> 27th, 4am
Japanese users -> 27th, 12 noon.

Remember that no new miniatures are required for this, as long as the mini fits the theme it's viable for entry.

So, with further adieu, the theme of the June 2011 MotM competition is....

Works in Progress. If it ain't done, it's cool for entry. Simple as that. Built but not painted is preferable.

Single miniatures only, no squad entries. Only one vote at the end

Good luck people!

Here's the quick "how to" on mini photography:

Mini's should be placed against a pale/muted background (preferably white paper, or a sheet, or even in a light box if you have one), with natural lighting. Use the "macro" function on your camera (usually a little flower) and take a shot of the whole thing. If you needed to make the picture massive to get the quality of the shot perfect, then crop it in photoshop/paint, then post it. The mini should be roughly face on, but can be off at an angle like the below miniature.

Here's an example of very well presented miniature, courtesy of Knightley.

Oh I've got plenty of those. Sounds like it might be a bit hard to adjudicate though. Where is the line drawn on "ain't done?" Not painted? Needs details modelled? Missing arms/weapons/heads/etc?

A mini that is built, but not painted. Can be covered in greenstuff or just basecoated; as long as it looks like a usable mini that isn't quite finished, it's good.

Im slightly curious as to how a "work in progress" is going to be rated, i mean would a painted man missing two arms and a leg unbased fare better than a full model thats been customised but totally unpainted?

"I like being shorter than the average person, makes the enemy work for their target "

Well it's rated by the people of Dakka. Built but not painted would be preferable.

i suppose i could enter the model which is pretty much my only dabble with the green. could i however enter a WIP that i have since painted but still have the unpainted WIP photos?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
also i would normally try to photo a finished mini infront of at least some paper but some of my old WIP photo's are just on a desk or in my hand.

Am I correct in believing this is something that people should not have been seen before, for instance my battelwagon bus is still a WIP, but it's been viewed over 300 times in my gallery.

Not really, it can have thousands of views; as long as it's a WIP, it's cool to enter.

I feel this contest was done with me in mind - I keep forgetting to paint stuff because of the next modelling project...

Sure, as long as it's not a completed model.

Check the OP and you'll find it.

I have ideas, but which one to choose? Hmm, I could pick that, or that one, or...
