Well, well, well. The night before a GT, and I'm only just starting to think about it. Truly I am entering jaded veteran territory.
Despite 8 weeks having passed since my outing at Lonewolf it seems I've done nothing to up my game. I've played 3-4 games*, but done absolutely no painting. This means that I'm still bringing 20 models painted 12+ years ago when my painting was (somehow) even weaker than it is now. I was putting these guys in the case, and they about made my eyes bleed. Also- no display board, which means even more painting points left on the table. Whoops!
In my defense, personal life has been tumultuous, with good things and bad things a-flurry, but all in all, especially busy. Thankfully, things are on a high note moving in to this weekend, having passed the National Registry for Emergency Medical Technicians here in Texas. As a result, I've decided that, rather than pulling an all-nighter trying to get some things ready, I'm just going to enjoy this weekend. On top of that, I'll be seeing my favorite band live on Friday night, which is all to say, my priorities are somewhat changed from Lonewolf.
I pretty much hit on all cylinders up in Dallas, back in April, pulling best Dwarf honors, and a top 10 finish. This week, I'm going to make it more about enjoyment and celebration. I'd considered taking a run at improving my standings over on Rankings HQ but after further consideration, decided this one should be all about some good R&R. So this time, the tournament goals are:
1. Have fun.
And that's it.
Mr. Aaron Chapman will be back with his Dwarfs, and as I mentioned before- I think his list has better raw power than mine. He's also a much more accomplished painter, so I'll be rooting for my fellow Dwarf to take it deep in to the later rounds.
Not sure what schedule will be like for updates, but I'll be looking to get pictures taken, and you can watch this spot for the games as they come!
* In perhaps the worst decision of my Dwarf playing career, I shaved my (real life) beard a couple weeks ago. I was promptly massacred in my next game. I've been growing it back as fast as possible, but may be in a bad way for the GT...

Game 1 v.s Jeff D's O&G
Lvl 4, Night Goblin Great Shaman w/dispel scroll, talisman of preservation, Terrifying Mask of Eee! and Warrior Bane. [Sneaky Stabbin’, Poison, Vindictive Glare, another spell]
Lvl 4, Savage Orc Great Shaman, Crown of Command, Lucky Shrunken Head (apparently this was mine, because I was missing it for most of this game) [Foot of Gork, Hand of G/Mork, Fists of G/Mork, Balls of G/Mork, 'Ere We Go]
Night Goblin Big Boss, BSB, Light Armor, shield, short bow, spider banner, big ol' cojones to be walking up front of a goblin unit with 2 wounds and a 5+/6+
Night Goblin Big Boss, Dragonbane gem, Enchanted shield, Light Armor, Potion of Strength, Potion of Forgetfulness, Short bow, Sword of striking
2 packs of 5 wolf riders, light armor, shields, spears, musician
70 Night goblins, 3 fanatics, nets, full command, light armor (?)
25 Savage Orc Big ‘Uns Extra hand weapon, Light Armor (?)
3 pairs of wolf chariots
2 giants with warpaint containing subliminal pacificst messages
2 pump wagons upgraded with everything except flappers.
Note for the sharp eyed: As I write this list up, I find there were some errors on his list. It comes out to 2520 points- night goblins and and savage orcs don’t actually have access to light armor and so on- these had almost no impact on the game. I believe some Savage Orcs passed some light armor saves at one point, but doubt it had any real effect on combats that were either being lost by tons or were steadfast anyways. Jeff was a pretty cool guy, very familiar with the latest FAQs, which is something I really appreciate in a tournament opponent.
I’ve gotta admit- I was happy to see Orcs & Goblins, despite only having played against the new book once. Hatred isn’t something to be sneezed at (ask any Dark Elf player- or better yet, don’t. Just punch them in the nuts, and laugh.) There wasn’t anything I didn’t think I could fight, though there were a *lot* of units, many of which sported impact hits. There wasn’t any shooting, which meant I didn’t have to waste any time on counter-battery fire. The mini-slann night goblin meant magic could be a little challenging, but we’d play that one by ear.
Our scenario: Bat Bridge. Control of the central bridge earned four bonus battle points (on top of the 4/8/16 for loss/draw/win). Additionally, the cloud of bats made it impossible to see the enemy deployment, and large screens were used to set up a double-blind deployment. In an ongoing theme for this tournament, I forgot to take a picture of deployment. No excuse for this first game, but in later matches, I’ll put it down to booze and call it even.
The scenario only strengthened my position- for those who aren’t familiar with rivers- they prevent march moves (but no restrictions on any other), and units with any models in them are disrupted, and are not steadfast. So if I could catch the goblin unit in the river, I was in business! On the flip side, I couldn’t afford to take a charge from chariots while crossing the river, unless the unit was hammerers.
As a final note, we played the edges of the bridge as impassible, which wasn’t necessarily how everyone else played it.
Here’s a picture of the situation after my first turn, which I won.
The hotness! We've got this thing well in hand. Shall we just call it now?
What you can’t really see all that well is that I’ve driven off two pair of chariots from Jeff’s left flank. All his impact hit units were deployed on my right, out of BSB range, and mostly out of general’s range too. I found this irresistible and emptied on this side- knocking out one chariot each with cannon and grudgethrower, panicking their partner. The rangers, failed to add anything to the mix. (They’re off to the right hunkering down in some woods to discourage chariot charges).
My plan was to shoot away the impact hits and then get the giants. I’d pull the savage orcs off the bridge with a mandatory frenzy overrun, then smack them in the flank and grab the bridge. Failing that, I’d try to engage them with a flank exposed at their edge and pull a similar maneuver. Key would be dropping the Savage Orc Great Shaman who was buffing the unit with stubborn, an extra ward pip, and whatever magic he could get off.
In response, the Greenskins didn’t have much to offer. Most magic was out of range, and the billion Night goblin poison archers had to march to approach. Both fleeing chariots failed to rally and went off the board!
Turn Two
A much less impressive shooting phase with this outing. A cannon bounced off a chariot, the grudgethrower misfired, and the organ gun wrecked a pumpwagon.
Wolfriders had advanced within 14” of the gyro, and for some reason, I elected to fly forward and use the oh-so-devastating steam gun. I was hoping to cause 2 wounds and force a panic check, thinking this would be the safer of the two options. I caused only the one wound, and it was time for the sadface.
Inexplicably advancing. W00T!!!!
In response, the gyro was charged by both units of wolfriders- I hadn’t noticed that I’d be giving up the flank (and extra spear attacks) to the second set of riders, which definitely got things a little more puckery.
The rest of the army advanced, and I tried to wrap my head around what was going on in the magic phase. I let a vindictive glare through on my organ gun. 11 hits, 5 wounds, no armor saves, and one Grungni ward save later, the organ gun was wrecked! Argh. I believe I spell eater-ed Foot of Gork, though, so that was handy.
A hand of Gork also got through, as I didn’t really see any proper threats. A big-ish movement roll later, and the last pump wagon was dropped behind my lines, next to my cannon. Ergh.
The gyro avoided any damage but couldn’t kill a wolfrider back, broke on a leadership 7 test and was run down. Boo.
Gyro! Noooooooo!
Turn 3
I’m still feeling pretty good about the situation, but I compound some early errors (I’ll get into that later) with a long charge on one of the giants with my hammerers. For some reason, I thought I’d be able to go through him in one or two turns, tops (one turn was hopelessly optimistic). The idea was then to get into the goblins, kill the characters out of the block, and get them stuck in the middle of the river.
What I’d critically failed to note, was that I couldn’t get out of the charge arc of the second giant, which was bad, bad news.
Several other things went wrong here- the giant tried to pick up my champ, but I whacked him in the hand- Jeff said this doesn’t actually inflict a wound, though I’d thought it did? The regular unit scored 3 wounds, won combat- the giant held, but fell over for another wound.
Also: we both forgot to trigger the fanatics from the night goblins. We remembered this later (and figured out the giant should have fallen over, docking him a wound), but it made for weirdness as the fanatics were released into an environment quite different than if they’d been on the other side of the river. Actually, thinking about this, they should have all died, or stayed on the far side of the river, since they die on contact with a terrain feature. Damn!
Anyways, the point here is this- the charge was a bad one, especially since the second giant was going to hit me in the flank. The only other good news was that the pump wagon was smashed by the combined efforts of the cannon and grudgethrower.
In the Orc and Goblin turn, the second giant headed into the hammerers, along with the massive unit of goblins.
Wait, I just did what? Oh dear...
A quick jump up and down later, and they were down to just a handful of models. They were unable to inflict any wounds back. I should note here, that to my shame, my use of longbeard models as hammerers finally caused a problem in a game. I’d gotten so used to doing this, that I forgot anyone could be confused, and Jeff was dismayed to learn that the unit was stubborn (in my defense, I’d pointed them out at the beginning of the game, but these things are *very* easy to overlook).
The wolfriders also returned from knocking the gyro down to threaten my grudgethrower.
Turn 4
Without a good way to deal with the wolf riders, and seeing an exposed giant flank, I decided to launch the great weapon warriors (now in horde) into the big combat. I knew I couldn’t save the hammerers, but I figured the original (terrible) plan might still be solid (it wasn’t). If I could down the giants, I could get into the goblins and crank through the little guys, especially the BSB and shaman.
The warriors made it in, but this was the point where we realized the fanatics hadn’t been released, and so out they came, doing light damage to the warriors on the way in. I also tried a long charge into the savage big ‘uns at the other end of the bridge, to try to freeze them at the end, where I could get their flank with my other hammerers, but this came up short.
An attempt to soften up the same unit failed when the grudgethrower exploded, apparently annihilated by the sheer proximity to the incredibly menacing wolfriders.
The warriors double failed fear against the giant, but still managed three wounds. There was a bit of a rules debate here, as the massive goblin unit had fought its way clear of combat, killing the last of the hammerers. It was my understanding that they no longer provided any of their “static” bonuses (in this case, just the two banners, courtesy of the river’s disruption), but still provided the benefits of the casualties inflicted. Judges weren’t sure, so we diced it as the goblins and other giant being out of combat.
The Orcs then counter attacked- with extra monster maneuverability, the second giant made it into the warriors, and the night goblins joined in too.
The Savage Big ‘Uns charged back at my warriors. Unfortunately for me, their flank was protected by the side of the bridge, and my warriors were going to have to duke this one out on their own.
Persistence. It never doesn't not fail to work.
End Game
The great weapon warriors were ground down, never having a chance to swing, as each turn one giant would yell and bawl simultaneously with his brother’s swings and a handful of goblin poison attacks. The runelord got in a challenge with a goblin hero who never remembered to drink his potion of strength, but nets kept me from finishing the little bugger off. I tried sending my little warriors in to get a cheeky kill on the BSB or even great shaman, but again, yell & bawl prevented them from ever swinging.
About the same time as this combat collapsed, the middle did the same. The Savages were doing a pretty good number on my shield dwarfs, and tore down my steadfast, just in time to take a flank and rear charge from wolfriders. These beasts of the battlefield gave +1 charge, +1 flank, +2 rear, +2 kills for no losses back (courtesy of their tasty 4+ save). This slid me from a test on a re-rollable 6 all the way down to snake eyes.
That was it for the game- a late swift reform grab for the bridge was countered and neither of us grabbed the objective in the end.
Results
So first game?
4-16 Loss for the Dwarfs
I put this down to several major errors.
-Target priority. I did need to damage the chariots on the right, but didn’t recognize the need to drop at least one giant, on the left. Looking at the math, most of my units could take a chariot charge, then crunch the goblins, but the giants put out D6 auto-hits at higher strength (and usually more than that) every single turn.
-Unnecessary advance and charge. I kind of ambled forward and really didn’t take advantage of the scenario slowing down the greenskins. I would have risked a long hammerer charge into the goblins if I caught them fording the river, and taken the opportunity to try to bag the Level 4 and BSB, but getting giants to double up on a unit was terrible.
-There were other issues: Mismanaged gyro, mismanaged magic phase giving up the organ gun, but the first two were the most egregious.
Jeff outplayed me in this game, fair and square. I made some horrible errors, and he capitalized on them nicely. Early success on the right got me overconfident and sloppy. Re-reading, I've made more of a point about some of the rules bits than they actually were. Things were nice and friendly, and I'd love to get a rematch when I'm a little more on my game than that.
Ah well! Time to take a plunge to the lower tables!

Game 2 vs. Tony M’s O&G
Well, after a good lesson in humility and focus, I got a good start on the afternoon with a 512 IPA and a 512 Pecan Porter. I wandered back in to the hall to learn that I had, once again, drawn Orcs and Goblins- and was playing Tony, a fella I’d heard of, but never met. As soon as I had a face to the name, I realized I’d seen him around at both my previous GTs , where he never seemed to be having anything but a hilariously good time. Excellent.
Here’s the list he brought:
Savage Orc Warboss, Wyvern, Off-brand Armor of Destiny, Extra Handweapon
Black Orc Bigboss, BSB, Banner of Swiftness
Orc Big Boss, Sword of Strife, Enchanted Shield
Savage Orc Bigboss, Boar, Extra handweapon
18 Boyz, musician, standard, extra handweapon
18 Savage Orc Big ‘Uns, Big Stabba, Extra hand weapon, Musician, standard
23 Night goblins, shield, 3 fanatics
23 Night goblins, shield, 3 fanatics, pressing engagement elsewhere
5 Savage Orc Boar boyz, Standard of discipline, extrahand weapon, musician, standard bearer
2 x 10 Squig hoppers
2 x Wolf Chariots
3 Trolls, gratitude for 18” Inspiring Command bubble
5 Bolt Throwers
2 Giants, my newfound respect
2 Ogre models with Mangler Squigs up their posteriors
No magic! Whaaa!? Two giants return to haunt me! Tony informed me that he didn’t actually have the models for the second goblin unit- and didn’t deploy them as a result. His list also shows that he had 5 bolt throwers, but I can only remember four being deployed. This was all a good thing, because my runelord was 11% of my army and wasn’t going to have anything to contribute.
Our scenario was to capture the taverns on 6th street. One extra battle point for each. They were impassible, but could be grabbed by being within 1” (and gaining extra combat res and leadership as a result).
As we started deploying, I began to realize that I needed to be a little careful. The Wyvern and Giants would be able to maneuver through the tight building spaces fairly well, and my blocks would have a rough time giving mutual support.
Tony threw the monsters, chariots, trolls and boars on my left, with a little fire support. This all dropped fairly late, which made for nervous moments, as I only had one unit of hammerers off on that side. I’d at least managed to get the stone thrower and cannon looking down the main street and off to my left, so they should have their shots.
I was good in the middle, unless the mangler squigs chewed me up bad, but I had the organ gun to perform “street sweeper” duties. I was pretty sure the hammerers could win head to head with the savages on the right too, but either lane might have some trouble if monsters shifted suddenly.
Here’s what things looked like:
As I begin to celebrate the lack of magic, Tony reveals that he, himself, is an Orc Shaman, and unleashes a devastating Gaze of Mork attack!
The Orcs rolled out first in this one, and Tony made me a promise. Only advance, never retreat. The fast stuff and big stuff surged down my left flank, and manglers started scrambling down the main drag to keep the pressure on.
Only one bolt thrower hit, and that was warded by the first hammerer it struck, so no problems there.
I took my turn and slid the hammerers slightly to start making room for the great weapons who swift reformed to head left. I’d originally thought about sending them up between two houses, but with the manglers, I couldn’t afford to advance yet.
The gyro set up to try to drag the savage orc boar boyz through the trees in time to get hit by hammerers and flanked by rangers.
Shooting went well- one mangler was pasted by the organ gun, before I turned my attention to the giants. I pegged one with a cannon for 5 wounds, then hit the other with a rock for four, splashing the other with the blast to finish him off! Lesson well learned!
For good measure, I crossbowed off a boar boy.
Successful first turn shooting?! Time to advance!
Turn 2
The savage orc boars failed to restrain and headed into the gyro, and the wyvern hopped a none-too shabby 21” charge into the hammerers. Everyone else scampered up.
Bolt throwers came up empty, and it was right on to the combat phase. The savage boarz whiffed spectacularly, inflicting 2 wounds, despite a fistful of attacks. The gyro couldn’t cause any back, but held (?!) which wasn’t exactly what I was expecting.
The wyvern had flow so fast, he’d blown the pants right of his rider, who apparently showed up naked (as all savage orcs should). This meant that despite killing 6 hammerers between them, his lord failed three out of three 4+ ward saves and bit the bucket.
In my turn, I countered by charging the rangers (now into the front) of the savages, and shifting the great weapons a little more to support the left if/when the hammerers were caved in.
Wish someone had told me all I had to do was roll really well for everything, and it’d be easy…
Shooting bagged me the second giant, the second mangler squig, and a troll, almost tagging a chariot to boot.
Hand to hand was tasty, with the boars getting ground down, and the wyvern breaking and running for it.
On the right, I stepped the chaff warriors into range of the goblins to trigger their fanatics. 3 9” rolls later, it hadn’t gone so well. The musician survived, broke, and fled through one of the fanatics…
Poor guys. Thought I wasn’t sacrificing them for once…
End Game (already!)
The back was more or less broken on the heavy damage dealers. The hammerers cleaned up the wyvern and great weapons got the trolls. The boar boys eventually succumbed to the gyro and rangers, while the savages on the right were eaten up by my second hammerer unit. In the middle, my BSB was able to ice out a character and eventually won the combat on static (once choppas settled down).
I’d started to pull back to grab all the buildings, but Tony declared shenanigans and offered me the tournament points if I’d just come out and fight what was left.
Many, many beers later, I was riding higher with a great game, a significant cognitive impairment for the next round, and a big ol’
20-4 Win for the Dwarfs.
Summary: Tony’s won many a sportsman award, and I can see why. He really enjoyed his game, which made it easy for me to do the same. My artillery was hot, which made this easier than it could have been. If I’d fluffed/misfired hard and gotten two monsters into the same unit, I’d have really been sweating this one.
24 Battle points ought to put me in the middle of the pack for the next round. Which turned out to be…
Tomb Kings!
First outing against a new book and seven beers in to the day! Recipe for success!

Wow, O&G twice in a row! Loved the reports, especially this line and the ensuing consequences:
RZ wrote:Wolfriders had advanced within 14” of the gyro, and for some reason, I elected to fly forward and use the oh-so-devastating steam gun. I was hoping to cause 2 wounds and force a panic check, thinking this would be the safer of the two options. I caused only the one wound, and it was time for the sadface.

Game 3 vs. George L’s Tomb Kings
Three games, three 2011 army books. Not bad! Prior to this, I had a combined total of one game against the new books, so I was loving the opportunity.
George was flexing a list that looked a little something like this:
Tomb King, Armor of Fortune, Dragonbane Gem, Death Mask, Chariot, Great Weapon
Liche High Priest, Dispel Scroll, Talisman of Preservation [Desert Winds, Smiting, Vengeance, Dessication]
Liche Priest, Mighty Plaques, Level 2 [Caress of Laniph, Spirit Leech]
Necrotecht, underpants
Tomb Herald, Banner of the Undying Legion, Chariot
7 Chariots, Banner of Eternal Flame, Full Command
20 Archers
5 Horse Archers
Warsphinx, Breath weapon
27 Tomb Guard, Halberds, Full command
Casket of Souls
Screaming Skull Catapult
The scenario granted one free model (called the Weirdo: Austin has a motto- “Keep Austin Weird”) that had the same base size as any unit, but a specific statline. The weirdo could also grant extra bonuses once per game if you performed certain silly things. These included drawing a picture in crayon of your opponent’s defeat for a -2 WS penalty to all enemy units fighting against the Weirdo or his unit, or dancing for an extra ward save, or stuff like that. Bonus points for getting the weirdo into the enemy half of the table, and keeping him alive.
I went with a fairly tight deployment. I needed to make sure that the skeleton horsemen didn’t sneak through to the warmachines to tie one up, and needed to avoid presenting a weak spot for the big chariots to blow through.
I decided I was looking pretty good magic-wise. George only rolled two of the unit buffs, and one couldn’t be cast into combat, which should limit his healing once the chariots got in for the grind. He also didn’t have a lot of places to hide the priests, so hopefully I’d be able to get after them.
I was pleased with deployment, keeping the gyro away from the archers, and keeping the rest pretty tight- with the bulk of my army ready to counter punch if the chariots got out too far ahead of the rest. The runelord didn’t have immunity to killing blow, so would need to make it a point to avoid the sphinx and tombguard, so I was prepared to bail him out of units as needed.
I picked up first turn, and looked to firm up ranged superiority. After I achieved that, I’d focus on things I could drop completely to avoid healing complications. Chariots would get some attention the turn before he had to commit them, to try to force a charge where they weren’t sure how much healing would go off.
The cannon blasted apart his catapult, and the grudgethrower bounced off the casket. The organ gun wiped out the scout cav. That was it, but it was a pretty decent start. Plan’s a good ‘un!
I snap a pic of the elusive blue-throated warbler chariot in flight.
The Tomb Kings rumble up. With nothing to heal, and death magic out of range of my characters, I can focus my magic defense, though the chariots do get to rumble forward a bit.
A few chaff warriors are peppered by fire from a handful of archers in range, but I’ve gotten off quite easily this time around.
Turn Two
I don’t have a lot of movement necessary, though the gyro slips around to start harassing the Tomb Guard, and the army shuffles to form a bit of a semi-circle for the approaching chariots.
Shooting breaks apart the warsphinx, wrecks a chariot, and wounds another, and kills a single tomb guard (steam gun!). I’m really liking my position now- basically all my combat blocks to deal with the chariots and tomb guard.
In response, the chariots zip forward into my hammerers with BSB. Magic is again uneventful, with one tombguard being restored, and an irresistible Light of Death failing to kill anything despite bouncing through 2 units and 2 war machines. I make sure to keep the buff off the chariots to avoid them growing. The bows are mostly in range of the organ gun now but can’t find a chink in the armor.
Suicide charge! Or is it?
Combat starts out OK, with low impact hit rolls. My BSB tries to neutralize the king using my 2+ ward vs. his (flaming) mundane great weapon, but he makes me fight a champion instead. The hammerers do OK, smashing enough wounds in to get two chariots (one was damaged) Then the Golden Death Mask kicks in, and I fail the stubborn 9 check, and can’t reach for a re-roll!
The upside is that the unit is wide enough that it impacts the cannon behind, unable to overrun out of the charge arcs of my flanking units. Still, counting the cannon and captured banners, I’m giving up about 700 VPs right there.
Turn Three
The warrior blocks head in to the chariot flanks. My warmachines don’t have a lot of targets, so don’t have a lot to do. The remaining hammerers hit a long charge in to the Tomb Guard, somewhat to keep the tomb guard out of the main event, but mostly to take some swings on the heirophant.
The gyro moves towards the middle of the field, considering a solo charge later on the archers to try to flatten the other liche priest.
All the cards on the table now!
I lose a fair number of hammerers to the Tomb Guard, thanks to hatred halberds, but manage to knock a wound off the heiro, with a fair number of swings expected next turn. The warriors don’t do a huge world of damage, but do expose the BSB to great weapons for next turn.
Sure enough, in his turn, the combats are essentially decided. I go all-in for magic defense, burning both scrolls (spell-eating dessication) and shutting everything else down with dice. The heirophant dies, (though it will cost me the hammerers) and the BSB is chopped up, which will accelerate the crumble.
Whatchu doin, getting’ into combat Heiro?
End Game
With crumbles ate the casket, and weight of numbers collapse the chariots in time to turn and go after the tomb guard (after some shelling, of course). The gyro even manages to land on the other liche priest, squishing him. I didn’t think I’d get the objective, since on first reading, I thought I had to get in his deployment zone, but on talking with Furgil after the game, it’s pointed out that I only have to be in the enemy half. George is amenable to changing the score sheets to grant the extra objective points, and it’s good for a:
20-4 Dwarf Win
Summary: Not too much to cover here- I think I targeted well, and the war machines held strong. If the hammerers hadn’t broken, I wouldn’t had that scary point early on, but getting the chariot unit in both flanks was pretty much an ideal situation. If George had charged something on the flanks where he had a shot to overrun past the rest of the army (or at least avoid getting hit in more than one flank), then he might have been better positioned in the long run. Obviously, the heiro needed somewhere to hide too!
The game was a lot of fun. George took the scenario in good spirit, and danced up a storm for his weirdo benefits. I've definitely got a fuzzy recollection of the details, so apologies for anything I've gotten wrong. I feel like I may have clipped out a turn early on, but if I did, it means we both did very, very little in turn 2, so I've gone with this (dubiously accurate) depiction.
From there, it was off to downtown Austin for some really great live music, and only a little more imbibing (so that I wouldn't be dead on arrival for Round 4)

Whoops, I knew I was forgetting something/many things. You can see my weirdo as the little spot of pink at the front of the shield warrior units. He came with strength 4 but just a hand weapon, which meant I didn't want to drop him in my hammerers to reduce their damage output.
Mine didn't play a huge role, mostly counter-acting George's when possible. I didn't even use the effect that acted as a free dispel scroll.

I'm guessing there was something embarrassing to do that even your 'imbibed' self didnt want to do?

Oh, no, I was fine with doing whatever. Imbibery increased my likelihood of performing embarrassing acts for benefits, but also reduced my likelihood of remembering that they were available. I think for that one, I had to ask for spare change from someone nearby, then give it to my opponent.

Thats normally the way it works for me too, but some of my friends seem to go the opposite way (as if they are only embarrassed cos they are drinking )
Thats an epic way of earning a dispel scroll, is there a full list somewhere of what you needed to do for the Weido?

If the weirdo or his unit is targeted by a spell, dispel scroll if... you ask for spare change from a nearby player, get it, then give it to his opponent.
If the weirdo or his unit is targeted by shooting, 4+ ward save till end of phase if... you dance for 10 seconds. Opponent may count time.
If the weird or his unit are attacked in close combat, lower attackers WS by 2 until end of phase if... you draw a quick sketch in crayon depicting opponent's defeat.
If the weirdo charges, gain +d6 combat res if... you compose and recite a short poem about your opponent's imminent demise.
