Don't see a lot of warmachine and hordes models here on dakka, so I'm going to post some of mine

I make no claim of being a master paint

Well seeing as how nobody else has said it yet i'll give you the typical jibber jabber. Thin your paints and maybe give it a wash. Your gold is good when with the red, but seems kinda odd when near white (look at the pic of the first warjack's head for an example). You've done a far better job than most people, good job on adding more warmachine to dakka

Thanks! Not going to thin my paints... 1)Thin layers don't work for my with white... all of my whites are WAAAAAAAAAY too runny 2)If you look at the red on the jacks, you can see some of the previous layer showing through.

I no longer paint gold that way (these were painted months ago, but photo'd like 3 weeks ago).

Thanks for the tips (sorry if I sound harsh by saying I won't thin my paints... its just thinning them more will make them water)

I presume you're painting onto white primer? I recommend that you give the metallic parts an undercoat of black, for silver, and dark brown, for gold, over the white primer and then paint the (thinned) metallics. You'll get a much more intense, nicer finish that way. Metallics also work really nicely with the washes. I use a mix of different washes on metallics but at the least I use Badab Black (and sometimes some Asurmen Blue) on silver parts and Devlan Mud (and Ogryn Flesh, Baal Red etc) on golds.
I used to be really stubborn about not thinning my paints but you do get a lot more control over how the paint job turns out. What paints are you using?
By the way, I'm really not a great painter myself and am still learning how to use the techniques I'm writing about here!

In the grim darkness of the 41st millennium there is only Devlan Mud Agrax Earthshade.

Cool Beans... I have a Menoth army waiting in the wings.

Great progress!

The gold was Vallejo Glorious gold
Black was Vallejo Black
Chainmail was done with an undercoat of black and GW's Chainmail color...
White was Reaper's Linen White
Red was Reaper's Deadrose Red.

I'm not saying I don't thin my paints, I thin all of them with the exception of those 2 colors... The issue that I'm having with those two paints is that if I thin them, they turn basically to water

My next set of Menoth (A Choir of Menoth) will probably be a little more detailed, but I'm getting these guys 3 colors up because while I wouldn't mind AMAZING painting on them, a majority of my paint time goes to my Blood Angels (these are breaks from complexity and seriousness).

Though... the 5 Trollbloods that are sitting in my case will most likely be high detail, as I like them
(Also djphranq, I might be picking up Sorcha and a few other models off of you)...
