So in the final match of my NC series I play the Tau guy from my match yesterday... except now hes spamming suits! Heres the lists:

So, a very (very very very) heavy shooting army with lots of suits... vs my BA. This is gonna be interesting!

Note: NO ONE else showed at the store I went to today so I didn't get to get anymore games in :( Sadly, this will be my last rep for this Series because I doubt I'll get anymore matches in during my time here... its been great, met many new players, learned some and taught others, and thats the best part; mentoring others to go out and win, thus creating a better player base overall. I love being challanged during my games and its especially rewarding when I get to face unique tactics, cool armies, and see peoples views on the game in general. My time here in Jacksonville will not be forgotten and hopefully my path with my opponents here will cross theirs again in the future! Hope ya'll loved the reps I posted as much as I enjoyed writing them!

We rolled off and I won the roll for turn 1!

Deployment
--------------
So by now if you've followed my reps my deployments familiar... this table is an 8' by 4' so its a lot longer than usual. I deployed forward, with 2 squads of AM's coming from reserves. 1 objective was in front of both deployment zone ruins, 1 was on the altar, and the other was inside the giant hill ruin.

The tau deployed his broadside in the faaaaar back and 3 crisis teams; he reserved his other 2 crisis teams and both devilfish. The teams were all behind ruins.

I scout up my Baals 18" and pop smoke (just in case)

He rolls to seize and gets a 3... off we go!

Blood Angels Turn 1
Everything boosts forward. My troops hide in ruins or behind LoS blocking cover. My baals shuffle to shoot.

Shooting I do a LOT of rending shots on his suits from my 4 AC's... and he fails I think 1 save :( bleh.

Tau Turn 1
His suits hop out of cover they're in and shuffle, proceeding to take aim at my army!

Overall in his shooting phase he stuns my right baal, wrecks my left baal, and wrecks my left raven :( He jump shoots away from my stuff.

End of Turn thoughts
Not too bad; he wrecked a few things, which was to be expected. This turn Mephy will take out that broadside and I'll charge the dread and Termis into his other two suit units; my goal is that he'll just have his far left suits left at end of turn. This game should be wrapped up shortly!

Blood Angels Turn 2
Meph jumps outta the raven crater toward his broadside. The dread preps a charge on his normal squad. My other raven moves up and disembarks its termis, ready to charge his command squad. One squad of mine comes from reserve, I drop half in the top right corner and the other half in the bottom left; those suits on the left should be in range to charge next turn!

Shooting I don't do anything really.

In assault heres what goes down;
- Meph hits the broadside and his drone 6 times and wounds 6. The broadside goes down, but the drone makes all 3 4++'s! He then hits and wounds mephiston... and worse yet, I FAIL THE SAVE! Thats an uber ass drone >.> I run him over though haha
- My dread charges in putting 4 wounds on his suit team! He makes 3 4++'s, and takes 1 wound. I fail to hit. He can't do anything and BARELY fails leadership, getting run down.
- My termis charge into his command team; after everything is said and done I kill 1 suit and 1 drone... he made a stupid amount of 4++'s this turn lol. He passes ld and hits and runs, making it, and getting away 12".

Tau Turn 2
He uses his thingger that allows him to roll 1 unit on on a 2+ and gets in his flamer suits. They DS behind my squad in the back, scattering only a little. His left side suits move for a great shot at my marines on that half. His command squad jump over the building to melta my dread.

Shooting he kills I think 2 marines or 3 on my left, I pass ld. His flamer suits put down an assload of plasma wounds, and leave just the sergeant who passes ld. His command squad meltas my dread and... I think he stuns it or something. He jumps toward my lone sergeant on my objective, contesting it.

Blood Angels 0 - Tau 0

End of turn thoughts
Ouch, stupid hit and run! lol. This turn I'll try and get his left side suit squad and try and whittle down his two squads near my objective; but I doubt I'll be able to get to them. His devilfish still aren't on and neither is his command squad... However, I've only lost a raven, 1 baal, and a few marines. So its not going all bad!

Blood Angels Turn 3
I move my right side marines from hiding, both the top and bottom ones. Bottom ones are gonna try and help the last sergeant out, while the top ones are gonna get into position for an objective on 5. Meph moves...; somewhere (due to being 8' long he gets stuck away from the action most of this game) Both squads on the left move up to punch out his suits there. My dread moves to block his rear armor and my termis hop into the ruins.

Shooting I cause his crisi command team to run! They run toward the ruins, into the waiting arms of my dread MWA HAHA!

In assault I pretty much table what is on the table while he kills mr lonely sergeant :( Everything consolidates toward objectives.

Tau Turn 3
All his reserves stay off.

End of Turn thoughts
Its pretty much game; he has 3 units left against pretty much my entire army...

Blood Angels Turn 4
Everything I have moves onto objectives. I have 3/4 objectives!

Blood angels 3 - Tau 0

Tau Turn 4
Everything comes in and moves max distance (12" for the devilfish, 6" for suits)

In shooting he wrecks my last raven and bounces away from my dread/meph.

Blood Angels 3 - tau 0

Blood Angels Turn 5
Everything moves to shoot his stuff, termis roll a bad 1,1 for DT and stay put. Meph is still out of the game and gets behind my dread.

Shooting I immobilize his left devilfish. Everything else runs.

Blood Angels 3 - Tau 0

Tau Turn 5
He tank shocks onto the temple objective and gets out to rapid fire. His suits in his immobile fish get out and make a screen for his suits. Suits bounce around.

In shooting he fails to kill my guys on the objective (actually, I think he may have killed 1?) and really does nothing else.

We roll for a turn 6 and get it and he calls it; it'd control all 4 objectives easily by the end of 6.

VICTORY FOR THE BLOOD ANGELS!!!!

End of game thoughts
Well, besides his hit and run shenanigans and feel no pain (I did 0 wounds in CC with anything that wasn't a PW against his command suit teams), I think things went well! I think a lot of suits is an OK list but it really needs a LOT of supporting units (pathfinders, etc.) Not much else to say about this game, I think there really was no hope for the tau in the beginning sadly :( Not enough pewpew to counter my punchface

The Tau list doesn't appear to be very balanced. It appears that he was tailoring it to fight MEQ foot-armies. Oh well, not everyone brings a balanced army. I think with his lack of AT and screening units, your stormravens should be able to make it to his lines. From there, it's just a matter of cleaning up and a solid BA victory. However, Mephiston will die.

He is relatively "new" to fifth (he quit for 2 yrs) and hes trying to get back into the swing of things, trying different things, etc. Plus, he didn't know a lot of his wargear is obsolete lol... so hes learning! I told him plasmas always good, so I think he took my suggestion a little too far >.>

Dunno, as I said, hes coming back to the hobby and getting back into the swing of things; I was cool with him doing it either way. I'm familiar with the common units of tau and their layouts, he likes to take all the "extras" you never really run into.... lol

yes stimulant injector is special issue and IIRC hit and run thing is too (and it can be taken by 1-man squads only so commander with it cant take bodyguard)
And looks like BA list is better.

Amongst the various legal issues on his 4th edition list, ... it is simply a "pushed" list. For 2k, it should have a full Heavy Support load, even with a maxed number of Crisis Suits ... leading up to, "No Railguns!?!? "

He waaay over equipped the HQs (part of it being the illegal Stims). This ought to be tightened down to 1850 or 1750.

Zid, why do you play with the 8x4? Why not simply draw a line on one end for a 6x4 table?

Was actually an accident... we didn't realize til after deployment then said "meh", so mephiston and 10 marines were out of the fight for most of the game lol
