why you askin? Huh, Huh!?

I recently bought a pack of ork nobz. I finally finished painting and assembling one of them (but I keep have to glue the arms back on ). So I thought I'd show you, I think I did pretty well but I would seriously like the opinions of Dakka. I mean give the good, the bad and the ugly points of the model Ok?

It is very hard to give an opinion simply because I cannot see any details. Try putting the model in front of a white back ground and getting some more light in there. The camera seems to have focused on the video tapes in the back ground and therefore I can't really tell much about the Nob. Post up some more photos and I'm sure you will get heaps more feedback! Cheers, James

Looks a tad dark to me, I'd go over it and do more higlights.
And drill those barrels! It makes a mini so much cooler, trust me.
Other than that it looks good, quite dirty and orky enough. Good job.

I have to agree about the darker skin tone! Here are two of mine! Love the painting, would also have to agree on the hole drilling!
Cheers

As in a Death sort of way?! If so then green stuff will be the easiest option and make a snake (as you would have done in school with plasticine!) once bent into shape try to keep flat but slightly elevate the curved section. The scythe blade will be very easy afterwards just don't forget to draw the blade from the thickest part of the blade as the lines (not to be overdone) will give it 'edge' and structure!
The cloak could either come from another model (one with a suitable cloak) but will take time in removing (if attached) and trimming to fit your model. Here green stuff may be of some helpo again with a flatten cloaked shape attached to your model and if you make it slightly larger you can add ripples into the 'fabric'. This should be the same for the hood also, green stuff will be easier because you'll be able to fit it around the head of the model.
Boots same old story there also! Blocks of green stuff moulded into the desired shaped and attached. Green stuff is rather good for conversions and some people make the most amazing converted models with it. The only thing is to keep it moist whilst working it. I moisten my fingers (enough) when moulding it and will use a sculpting tool dipped into water to stop the green stuff sticking. Remember you can either glue the green stuff on or let the natural stickiness of the green stuff adhere to the model. Some people do either or both! The only way to find out properly is to have a go with the stuff!!! (It's rather good for hair and fur also!!!)
Does this help?

Cool I am happy to be of some help!!! One thing with green stuff and the scythe handle is that if you are thinking of putting wood grain into it, it might be best to leave the green stuff to harden slightly and then use something sharp but thin to get a nice wooden effect. Also if the plastic tubing doesn't work (which it work should really) thin metal wire should hold your scythe handle in place whilst it hardens also!
Good luck with it, would be great to see it once you're done!!!
Cheers
Andy
P.s. Feel free to ask anything else!
