I know I've done a thread similar to this already, but I really didn't get the answer I was looking for.
Now I'm a kid, an Adolescent, a YOUNG teen. The guys that play at my local GW are die hard enthusiasts who look AND smell AND act weird.
I need to avoid them. I need to play with people that are a bit more subdued and value personal hygiene. I know you may think I'm being picky, but I've known plenty of normal (acting and looking and smelling) people who play 40k
Just for some reason.... These aren't the people who go to my local GW. Now DON'T suggest the find a game feature, because my mom (yes my mom) won't approve of me meeting up with some random guy or gal on the internet who I've Never seen. If you've had similar experiences tell me, just please make sure they have a happy ending....

So, you can't stand any of the people at your GW, can't find another store to go to, and can't meet people outside of the store?

Either get your friends interested, or play against yourself, I suppose.

Cut out some cardboard circles the size of most bases, and just proxy everything. If you're determined, not much can stand between you and a game.

I would really like to play with models.

Start another army instread of expanding your own. I always find people that are interested but dont have the time or money for the game, especially ex fans, and they love playing one of my armies against me.

I agree with DrDuckman.

I knew no-one else who played 40k, so I got the AoBR for the rules and two armies.

Build them up to 500 points each, and get the codexes.
Maybe get another army up to the same 500 points and the codex.
Getting 2 of the AoBR is a great way to get to 500 points.

Doing it this way lets you:
-play whenever someone else wants to,
-start off on more than one army to learn it, or expand as you see fit
-learn the rules better to fit in more when you do find a group.

But, I am old and have the cash to splash on an instant setup.

As for meeting people, get them to meet you in the local GW for a game. Take your Mum along. It's neutral teritory, they don't know where you live, and there's supervision if anything kicks off.

Where's your location (i.e. your nearest game store/GW)? I'm sure there is bound to be some dakkanauts around your area, just check the gamer's catalog (and add your own name/location to it):

I can appreciate where your parents are coming from, what with all this child abduction and pedophilia nonsense that needs to be expunged from society, perhaps ask one of your parents to take you to the store, and introduce them to the opponent, heck if they want they can hang around and supervise the entire game if they desire, just explain the situation to both parents and the opponent.I think if you explained to your parent's that you were going to a shop full of people to play a game they might see it a little differently (mainly because there will be other people around to hopefully prevent any evil shenanigans from happening).

I'm sure you'll be able to find a library/school club that suits your age range better, or a gaming club specifically catered to people around your age.

Most clubs and shops I know near me are not listed in the GW search :(

The clubs I know of have sites or have forums on the internet, so a search around will get something.
Lots mention that they are Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked, and GW can often confirm that.

thank you, I'm the kind of person who likes to play with just normal regular guys. Like you guys, but even the kids at my GW are kinda strange, I observed them and they seem very over enthusiastic and nervous, I like to play with new people, but these guys....
