Is the eldar night spinner apoc only or can it be used in regular games?

The rules are official, so i'd assume anywhere as long as you can provide the rules.

Usually in tournaments it's mentioned you can use it, and I'd let anyone use it whereever.

its rules completely official (and published as that in white dwarf) and the nightspinner can be used anywhere. Its basically a new part of the eldar codex, thats just published in white dwarf.

I'd ask before a game just to make sure your opponent's fine with it, in case you plonk it down in the table and your opponent's reply is "lolwhut?" (True Story. )

I think this is more a 40k general discussions topic and should probably be moved.

I´ve never had any problems regarding this. The rules are official, so theere is not much room for people saying you can´t use it!

I quote from about 4 people I've played: "It's not in your codex so you can't use it."

I sigh and show them the white dwarf: "That's not official"

I point to the aquila with the word "official" through it: "Nahh I don't want to play it. Count it as a Fire Prism"

I then facepalm and proceed to Roflstomp them with Eldar.

True stroy.

You can use it in standard games, but you probably don't want to. Eldar Nightspinner was bad with FW rules, Apocalypse rules AND standard rules, always worse than the Prism tank or any other option in the Heavy Support slot.

I disagree, as a user of one avidly.
It's a large blast S6 TL rending, against infantry is does horrible things, it's accurate and you can get a lucky rend on tanks, as well as putting anything it touches(including vehicles) to take DT tests. It's extremely helpful. As generally a gunline army, it stalls their advance drastically

As for fielding them, i printed the pdf they had on their website, unsure if it's still on there however. Take that to your games, they can't argue with that
