so i am recently starting a Death korps of krieg army, now, the thing is. i dont feel like dishing out 60 dollars an infantry box so i thought i would use pig iron models to save some cash, here are my first models. i have real krieg FW coming soon, which i will be posting.

comments and suggestion are wanted.

The gas masks don't look very Kriegish.

Be aware krieg models are significantly smaller than standard plastic Cadians

They look more like... is it Steel Legion? Still nice looking, don't get me wrong. I also agree with you with it being to costly. I'd love to make a Elysian army, but sheesh, I'd have to win the lotto for that!

they look very cool, good paint job too!
They dont look like DKOK, but are good standins i think, and i like that they look abit different rather than just sort of copy of the same. Great guard regiment with these!

Now, I'm gonna have to say, there's no Kriegsman like a real Kriegsman. You can try to imitate it as much as you want, but you won't be fooling anyone. They're solid conversions, but they're not making me feel the Krieg. Either commit to the Krieg, or go down another route.

You could make an entire army based around your conversions, they do look good. Just don't call them Krieg, because no one will buy it.

The Pig Iron stuff looks nice I think. I wanted my IG army to have a Steel Legion flavor to match some of my old models and I used the heads on cadian bodies.
DKOK are some cool models but these are cool too and have some of the same style. nice models with a nice paint job. Good work.

They look no more DKOK than the pig iron ones. Still, not every greatcoat trooper has to be Krieg. I'm curious to know what will happen to the models the OP posted once he gets the FW stuff because they are really well done, it would be a shame to just to push them to one side.

Nonsense.

@OP - 100% go for it, these models (whilst obviously not authentic, GW-standard DKoK) make fantastic Kriegsmen. A guy plays Pig Iron models as DKoK down at the FLGS - he's had the army for over a year now - they look great on the battlefield fully painted & no-one has ever told him that he couldn't call them Krieg because they 'weren't buying it'.

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.
