I was talking about the boxed set not the 6th edition. And last I checked this was a forum, people were supposed to y'know, post stuff

If i continue this debate any further I'm going to get this thread locked lol.

There are at least 20 speculations about when the box set may or may not come out.

So in short nobody knows but if you want to know what people have speculated about go read it yourself

Generic Chaos vs (Uwlthe) eldar would be good.
Chaos vs Sisters of Battle would be awesome.
Best of all would be tau vs sob =p

And 5th ed 40k! It also went with a July rulebook followed by a September starter. I feel like they might go slightly earlier this year, but that's just my gut feeling.

Hmm, well if the Starter set will have chaos (with cultists) does that mean that:
July, 6th Ed (confirmed)
August, Codex Chaos _ (replacing Codex: Chaos Space Marines)
September, 6th Ed Starter Set?

I really hope it's eldar, I'm starting a eldar army so that will help and I get the small rulebook and such and I can just sell the other half (disorder side) at my FLGS(battlegrounds) for store credit, and then buy more eldar!!!! I win! Let's just hope it's eldar and if it's not eldar ahh

Quite alright! It's just a pattern a few folks have picked up on with their releases. Rumor has it that Chaos will be the next codex, so it's possible to assume it will be for any time between August and October. The 5th ed starter set came out before the 5th ed Space Marine codex by about a month, so I guess it's a possibility that'll happen again.

That's what the guys at the Bunker are speculating, although there's doubt if August will have any sort of 40k release.

So, Codex: Chaos _ will most likely be in October, then.

But I don't know if I can wait 2 months for the starter set, then wait a month for a new codex...

Starter set should try to pull off the new race and maybe necrons. The two new codexs pitted against eachother!

Can remember AoBR came out in september and the next month was the SM codex, so would guess Chaos will be October.

And hopefully nids will be reupdated next year or the year after.

Now I know what you're think, they got a 5th ed codex. They normally get updated every edition. They had Genestealer Cults I believe in 2nd, and codexes in 3rd, 4th and 5th. So hopefullt the trend will continue and they'll put Phil Kelly on us next round. He and Andy Chambers did the 4th ed codex and it wasn't too bad.

To be to hasty, I wan't to see the 4th edition books updated before your nids!

Fair enough. As long as I get a good 2 years outta the codex. I have played maybe 10 games with this codex, simply because no one except 8 year olds sporting Razorspam showed up when I was playing them

I really don't see much of a problem with the current Nid Codex. I feel very much that it is a problem with the current rules that kicks this codex out of contention.

If they manage to fix how strong vehicles are compared to foot troops Nids will be viable. Especially now that we don't have to convert models to make tervigon's and the such.

I wouldn't get your hopes up; there have been no positive rumours about Eldar, while reliable sources continue to tell us the box will be Dark Angels vs Chaos.
