Lol. They really are gorgeous figs. Everyone different and individual. There is a lot of bling but it's pretty cool bling and loadsa scrolls and purity seals which I love to paint

I made a thing! Good bit of stuff done today as the headaches decided to cut me a break and sod off. Got a good start made on the vignette for Larks. Still loads n loads to do but the framework is down. There will also (eventually) be a stained glass window in the window frame.

Yep, nice initial progress shot!

Got the doorway sorted, the cobbles outside and the first layer of texture and seal done. Watered down liquid greenstuff is aces for this.

Looking good. Watered-down LGS also works as a very effective primer coat for PVC models, like the D&D boardgame figs or Bones.

nice - fairly handy stuff. Good for giving a bit of texture to those way tooooo smooth SM cloaks as well

Also, top marks on the scratch-build lightning cannon it looks so close to the original ones i think that's how they made them in the fist place!

Cheer Sir D. Lightning cannon should look pretty tidy when it's all assembled and mounted. Base sprayed the tank earlier today. Looking forward to getting to it. Never done a tank/apc before so should be a bit of fun need to be getting a move on with Larkin and his dio first though.

Woke at stupid'o'clock so decided to make a start on the vignette paint. First couple of layers done on the floor and sketched in the tones for the walls

Thx folks. Happy with how it's going. Not going to do much more on the marble as I don't want to overwork to and bugger it up. Will deepen the edges between the tiles, shadow back towards the corner (where Larks will be ) , finish the little decorative tiles and leave the floor at that. Hoping (he says with raised eyebrows ) to have the whole vig base done by the end of the weekend

Not as much done today as I'd hoped due to an errant hangover. Lol.
However, did make a start on the broken stained glass window, more or less finished the marble and started on the rubble. Hope y'like

The stain glass window looks great! How did you make it? And is the yellow glow on the floor OSL painting or actual light from the window?

Cheers Bottle. The yellow glow is light shining through the stained glass window. Works pretty nice with the right light. It's just made for an old green stuff blister pack and a little bit of 'oh crap, how the hell am I going to do this???' Lol
This the base nearly finished. Few more touches to do and then it's on to Larks

Clear/transparent paints? Like Tamiya's range of Clear Acrylics? Vallejo and Minitaire have some as well.

lol. Been planning this one for a while. Still have the rest of the Gaunt's figs to think up/plan/design/rip my remaining hair out over for little vignettes for them too. Lark's was an easy one so started there.
The stained glass is just a piece of a blister pack cut to shape. The black lines and white wings are GW paints (abaddon and palllid wych) but the clear bits are done with Tamiya clear paints. Stinky stuff and defeintely NO BRUSHLICKING with those paints, but they worked out pretty well.
The black lines fgor the 'cames' are painted on one side of the plastic while all the colours are painted on the reverse.
Had to come up with it on the fly as coudnt find any tutorials or other methods on the interwebberies for doing stained glass on such a small scale - but think it worked out pretty well. The yellow glow will cast down on Lark's back which should look pretty cool when all assembled

the tamiya clears are horribly stinky - but very effective, beautiful window that is Januine!
