Hey--I placed an order from the manufactorum back on like August 3rd or something, and haven't (a) heard anything, (b) received anything. I've emailed him (bloodquest) twice and sent him a PM one time, with no response.

Has anyone heard anything? I'd like to get my starter kit!

I placed a small "sample" order on August 8th...emailed/PMed BloodQuest since then, but haven't heard anything back yet. Seems like it's a pretty small operation, so I expected some delay... Still, it would be nice to hear something back. If the kits work as well as they appear to, I'd gladly buy a lot more.

Good call, I went ahead and opened a dispute on mine through paypal.com. My purchase was on 8/3. I sent 2 emails and a PM through dakka, no response.

Seems someone else recently had a similar problem and ended up hearing from BloodQuest in the end, so hopefully things can be resolved amicably. I'm willing to wait a while longer myself.

Shame to see I'm not the only one having problems, I originally signed up here just to send BloodQuest a PM about my order since I found his site while lurking here. I placed my order way back on 30/06/2011 and since then nothing. I left it a few weeks assuming it would just take a while to ship to the UK but after hearing nothing after a month I emailed him, then signed up here and PM'ed him as well as sending another email. It's been that long I had to open up a paypal dispute since I was near the 45 day limit on those, hopefully I hear back something before the 20 days start to run out and I'm forced to escalate the claim, since I don;t particularly want to do that given the excellent reviews and stuff Blood Quest has received for fixing problems before.

Yes, I think it's important that folks know they only have 45 days to open a claim/dispute with PayPal.

Also, I'm not trying to slam the guy or anything--I just either want my stuff or my money.

Probably work

I've ordered from BQ before with no problems. I like his kits and the styrene rod with attached magnets is a godsend for applying magnets in hard to reach locations. I recall he had some issues with a guy he hired on to help with orders some time ago, but I think he got those issues worked out.

So it's been 2 weeks since I opened the dispute and emailed BQ again and still nothing. Are there any members on here who know BQ/can contact him irl and see what's going on? I only have til the end of the month before I'm forced to escalate the claim, which I don;t particularly look forward to doing.

I don't see why people just don't order from K&J Magnetics, it would have saved you time, agrivation and $$$.

In my previous orders from him he was able to beat K&J prices on smaller quantities of magnets. In fact I believe he bought in bulk from K&J. It was nice being able to buy a couple dozen magnets of different sizes to fit your project. But given this recent frustration I would say you are right. I am just gonna order 300 magnets from K&J. It means I only get 3 different types but oh well...

For me, I wanted to support someone doing something cool, above and beyond what K&J, Amazing, etc. are doing--that its, providing conversion/magnetization kits and instructions for the GW vehicles, etc. And his starter kit comes with some nice odds and ends that I wanted.

Prior to this order, I've ordered all of my stuff (for like 10 years) from Wonder, K&J, Amazing...whoever I could remember to check first

Because having looked into it wouldn't really have saved me anything. I've never magnetized anything before so these small kits were supposed to be the easy way for me to get into it, since they have just the bits I need.

If something's happened to him or his business, it's a real shame.

Never ordered from him though...

Same here. Support a fellow hobbyist who was providing a great service. If you look through his website he has some great tutorials on how to magnetize most 40k models. I have referred several people looking for magnets to him. I hope that things are well with him, but its money for magnets and I got a project on hold...

I should have searched before spending money there 2 weeks ago.

I am opening a dispute. I hope he can resolve it, I want his magnet kits. He has amazing directions and selections.

I hope he is okay.

Paypal resolved in my favor and refunded my $24 today. I never got anything from manufactorum in the whole process. I hope everything is OK, but am happy to have my money back.

Same thing for me. Placed an order August 13th. No response, no magnets. Filed a Paypal dispute today, I'll escalate it soon, as it doesn't look like there is any point in waiting.

I assume he's just super busy with work. I'll probably have to go with K&J for this order, but hopefully he'll be back. I'd rather support another hobbyist, ya know?

PayPal decided the dispute in my favor and returned my funds. I hope everything will be resolved in others favor.

Hi guys,

This has mostly been covered in a new thread, but although I expected to be busy this summer, I didn't expect to be away from home.

I thought I had things back on track in early July, but as soon as I left again it all went to hell in a hand basket.

Even if you have had a refund, send me an email as requested in my other post and I will get the order out to you.

As I've said before, money is absolutely not the #1 objective in this so, regardless of whether I decide to continue with the site, I'd like to make sure everyone that supported it is taken care of.

Simon
