I am using
Dark Angels Green
Chaos Black
Scorched Brown
Chain mail
Skull White
and
Badab Black Wash
This is for an IG army and I think the wash is too dark on the Infantry. I think it looks great on tanks but the guardsmen look like they have been working in a coal mine. Any comments hints suggestions?
Note that I have wear and tear marks on their armor for all the figures and I have camo on all the figures as well.
Here are some pictures with an unwashed figure for comparison.
(This is only the second time I have painted Mini's )

I don't use a black wash on flesh colors. Use a Skin wash or ink. You might try a lighter flesh color + Skin ink.

Examples of colors would help.
Also Talorn Flesh vs Dwarf Flesh?

-The cloth looks good.
-The armor/weapons look really nice but they appear too bright (may be lighting?). They could use a light Badab Black wash to tone down the color imo.
-I can't judge the faces from the pics but for my IG infantry I use Talorn Flesh with a Devlan Mud wash. This gives a "arab" look, you can also use Ogryn Flesh wash for a lighter tone.
Devlan Mud wash on the green part of the boots may add a nice touch depending on how much time you want to spend on each figure.

Both of those color are to dark to apply a wash to. Are two ways to go about it.
1) paint the face Talorn and the highlight with Elf Flesh
2) Paint the face Elf Flesh or Bleached bone and then wash with Ogryn flesh.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Honestly they remind me of my time in the army. In basic training they had us smear face paint all over and by the end of training we just had uneven green and black smudges all over
