Hey, I am brand new to WHFB (like dont even know most of the rules) and I am thinking of starting. So I am trying to find a good army for me. I like a low model count and to have a good amount of cool rules and items that they can use. I also love powerful characters. So what army fits this the best?

Ogres, they have the lowest model count in the game.
WoC, low model count, a lot of rules
some others, but I don't really know

Really, best thing you can do is check the gamesworkshop site. Look into all the armies, then post the ones you like, and tell us what you want to do with an army, and we can help you refine your search.

Failing that, I'd say go with ogres. I haven't had a look at the new book yet, so I don't know what to say about character, but when your core troops are tougher then just about every other core troop, and your heroes at base stats are tougher then a goodly portion of other heroes, it wouldn't be too hard to believe that the characters are tough.

I agree with necros about what you like.

I have not had a look at anything other than the cover of the ogre book and some of the new models (which look soo sick).

But maybe ogres are a good choice but ya figure out what you want out of an army and what you like for models

In my opinion, when choosing a new army, particularly the first, it should be determined by a) how much you like the look of the army/the models, closely followed by b) how much you like/enjoy/engage with the fluff/background, and finally, trailing somewhat, c) how the army performs on the tabletop.

Although, I've always been more into the collecting/painting and background side of the hobby, I've yet to truly get back into the gaming side, so I'm probably biased.

Homebrew Chaos: The Black Suns; A Medrengard Militia (think Iron Warriors-centric Blood Pact/Sons of Sek)
