here is my space marine Chaplin. i wanted to do something different for his color scheme, as i really got tired of seeing black on chaplains and nothing else. please let me know what you think, i am open to all feedback.

*BTW: my lighting really REALLY cranked up the highlights. i don't know why, i think it might be a white balancing issue, because all of the other whites are hyper vibrant. i will work on that. so please keep in mind the highlights are just a tad darker, although not terribly so.

I get the idea, but not the execution. Chaplains are tue antithesis of Libbys. This guy is having one hell of an identity crisis.

well, concept is that one half of him is the chapter color, the other is the chaplain color.

i guess i never really thought of that, because librarians are ultramarine blue too....

hmm.....

i think i will need to paint all of my chaplains red now to clear the air...lol...

My chaplain is just painted with the Chapter colors. I figured his Crozius Arcanum would be enough to clearly represent his office.

Nothing says that a chaplin had to be all black armor. I like it since it is different. Good work.

First of all, great paint job. The base is really cool, too.

And second, any color scheme you like for your toy soldiers is fine. Chaplains don't always have to be black. I remember years ago I painted a Dark Angels Chaplain green and posted him to Bolter and Chainsword. The forum practically erupted into a warzone over the appropriate colors for Chaplains I couldn't believe some people were actually telling me how I ought to paint my toy soldiers!

Oops I forgot you were a Um player, suddenly it makes sense (still having an identity crisis, Chaplain Edict and all that)

Some people have done their chaplains such that only the pauldron carries the original color of the chaptr, much like the deathwatch.

Another option might be to swaddle him in robes or a cloth of the color of hte chapter.

I actually like the idea of painting your entire army so that there is one cohesive theme, that differes from others' armies. You will realise why this is a doubly good idea during the next apocalypse campaign, so nobody pilfers your chaplain, and there are also no questions as to who the model belongs to (As for instance, I am not entirely keen on my current armie's quartered yellow-gray theme, but nobody can claim any of my models as theirs, because.... well... they are unique........)
