This was something I had in the back of my head for a while and after seeing the awesome work of such members like 7yler and others on the subject,it has inspired me to give it a shot.
As the title implies this will be about gundam/tau conversions and the like. Please don't take this too seriously, this was all meant in good fun Critiques and comments always welcomed, hope you enjoy.

We'll start off with a little" back story" .

In western fringes of the Tau Empire lay a remote Gue'vesa colony the locals called "Side 7". In it, was a secret facility where Tau scientists of the earth caste were developing new technologies and weapons. One of these was a new prototype battlesuit with the serial number "RXV-78". It had an advanced sensory array, extra armor using an experimental alloy, and a new type of jet pack that outperformed the standard one in every test. It was to be paraded (hence the extravagant color scheme) before given to a worthy tau commander to pilot. Unfortunately the facility came under attack by a squad of space marines from a recent renegade chapter. Although the renegades were originally sent to do recon upon hearing reports of the secret facility from spies within the colony, when signs pointed to the reports being true the renegades disobeyed orders and attacked hoping to plunder xenos technology before it could be moved elsewhere. A lone tau apprentice who was also the son of one of the tau scientists quickly got into the prototype, and although having no prior knowledge on the suits controls was quickly able to learn and defeat two of the renegade space marines and forcing the others to retreat.

and have way to many fingers.

interesting idea, be nice if it turns out I think just about every tau player out there with a converting bug up his/her you know what has attempted a "Dam" version
(consiously or subconsiously) at one point or another.

good luck.

I really think you need to lengthen the legs a bit. He almost looks like a midget gundam.

Cool stuff so far.

It reminds me of the SD or gashpon type gundam toys.

Were you using 1/144 scale model for head and hands? Your battlesuit is a good start but I was gonna ask if you tried 1/200 scale. BTW I love your concept sketch.

Love the SD types. Yep using 1/44th scale, haven't tried 1/200 yet ( i didnt know they made them smaller then 1/144 lol). Very happy you enjoy the sketch,

Added a base coat, light plasma rifle in play (still needs work), and shield attachment. The mian body wont be that light blue when its finished and Im still working on finding the right pieces in the extras bin to lengthen the legs abit.

you cant see it but the midsection is painted red.

[Thumb - IMG_0274.JPG]
sorry for the horrible lighting, started painting the inside of the thrusters to make it look like its in flight.

Cool idea, but I think I should point out that if you changed the guns for swords you would basically have a Samurai Pizza Cat

I think the reason the legs look so wrong from the body is the feet, gundams have more of a 'shoe' like foot, rather then the bird like tau feet, at the moment the legs look a little silly compared to the body.

The top half looks great though, gotta add a sword in there somewhere and rockets, rockets everywhere

Yes! Rockets! maybe some sort of prototype bazooka attachment hehehe . Right now Im looiking to find pieces to make the legs longer , as for the shoes I wanna keep them because in order to find a balance between the Tau and Gundam suits (though the colors , head, and hands are going more for the gundam side). If i made the shoes bigger some how or a split toed gundam shoe, you think that would be better?

Found a solution to the leg length problemo. Just waiting now for the clay to harden so I can sand them down to size, the odd looking crescents will be its ankle guards once they too are solid and sanded down.

Hehe Mine used to get rolled into balls. But then i decided i could not put random spheres on most models lol. so i used to shape them into rocks. But sometimes i flatten them in to paving slabs.
