Waaagh Dakka is a fun virtual 'army' where all Dakka members are part of a great Ork Waaagh. Members select, paint and photograph an Ork model they feel best represents their personality on Dakka, and then organize their photos together with other members into 'mobs' that together form a big virtual Ork army (no need to send your models anywhere!).

This is a great community project that can really give you some inspiration to model and paint something you perhaps wouldn't normally attempt! This project was semi-secretly launched a few months ago in the private DCM forums to get a few mobs up and running for people to jump right into, so you can already go and check out what's been done already.

Here is the main Waaagh Dakka page.

There is also How to Join Waaagh Dakka, which contains detailed information on how to join.

If you are interested in joining Waaagh Dakka, then please direct any questions and/or WIP discussion to this thread.

I hope everyone finds this project interesting and challenging and joins in!

To simulate a true "Waaagh" moment at an event, you need to totter unbalanced as you scream it with an alcoholic Monster drink in your hand.

I need to paint up a damn Ork for this!

You might want to hold off on that, as I already have him leading the Kommando squad.

The way it works is that people form 'mobs' of the same type of models. So if you want to be a Kommando then you join the current 'mob' of Kommandos.

Kanluwen has finished (?) painting a Kommando Nob (although he hasn't put it up yet on the Waaagh Dakka page), so therefore he is/was in charge for creating the fluff/description/details for the Kommando mob.

As I'm trying to keep the number of 1 person mobs to a minimum the basic 'rule' is that if a certain type of mob currently exists (and has spots available) then you can't just go start a new mob of that same type, you need to join the existing mob. So if you wanted to be a Kommando then you'd be part of the same mob as Kanluwen.

I wouldn't get too caught up about who you're in the mob with. This isn't a clique to get certain people to join or not join your mob, but rather just a group modeling/painting exercise.

Meganobs are reserved for moderators only. Sorry! You can be a regular Nob in a Nob mob or a Cybork Nob in the Cybork Nob squad we have already.

Hmmmm... maybe I can cobble together a Kommando looking nob from some Kromlech Ork bits... You know, an Ork Nob always has to be looking over his shoulder as an enterprising Ork may try to replace him...

This is a really cool idea, but it's kind of sad that certain mobs are only open to DCMs.
