this is a diary of modifications to existing models by GW and forgeworld.
For this project I used imperial guard from GW command squad, some gunner figures and the 5 man IG packs you can get for around 8 dollars each. I started with the common SHS head swap with french adrian gasmask heads. A fine source for these is http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=french+adrian&x=0&y=0
heres the pic
[/img]

would make an ok conscript or renegade workers squad.

Then I decided with all these skull bits I have laying around, I could branch out.
I carefully sliced off the IG command squad faces and replaced them with the sliced off faces of the skulls. some other slices and bits added:
heres the pic:
[/img]

I was thinking of combining some DKOK with these to be able to go back and forth between IG and renegade armies.
I have never played an apoc game and am not familiar enough the game to know if this would fit. opinions?

Here are some primed Renegade Ogryn berserkers to add.
they arent modified but as they would be a fun addition to the army I thought I would at least show a b4 and after of them.
[/img]

an update, almost done with renegade ogryn squad.

done,

*One of the most commonly found modified vehicles in the levy/crew is the Echidna (the name comes from the fire breathing mother of the Chimera in ancient legend). An Echidna,is a Chimera chasis-style mining transport with only one heavy flamer for hostile environments was designed primarily for getting the miners in and out of hazardous caves and xeno infested mining locations. After the rebellion,Empire shipments stopped and most of the Echidnas had to be outfitted as dedicated military transports and given armor plating and a heavy weapons crew with a stubber and heavy flamer.
[/img]

These 2 units added. They are both modified from original form. the masked flamer was a warmachine mini.

Cool looking conversions! I like the use of the tank commanders shoulderpads as helmets/visors, may have to steal that one of these days

Keep up the good work!

Looks pretty good, whats the overall effect your after?

Skin wise you could add another level of highlight to give it some pop.
Metal wise you could edge highlight with Mithril silver.

I have never played this army,(Ihave only played warhammer 3 times)but I would like to use the forgeworld rules if the other player will allow. If not then I would be stuck with the latest ig army codex.

They look good!, how do you make such nice looking rust?

mixing yellow and red together with a touch of brown and some water, but mixing them badly.
For built up rust I add some oyster shell from my garden supplies(because it flakes like rust) with some watered down elmers glue. Then I touch the rust clump with the rust mix and it soaks in with same pattern as rust if you do it right.
for leaky rust I just keep adding layers of very watered down rust color, but with a toothpick so I can draw patterns that I want the color to follow. water first then color mix.
Ill try to add a pic that has some better examples.

Good use of the west wind heads but I would not cut the filter box from the heads, it reduces the gasmask to a tube that goes nowhere.

Hey Zari,

Liking the bunker mate, looks like a safe place to blast some bad guys from, nice work.

Your absolutely right,I kept thinking I would find a gw bit that would work to cap those, like the bottom of the breather packs that come with IG.

Another option would be to cut the tube closer to the mask and add some thick plasticard/GS circular piece as the filter.
I´m using the para beret heads and plan to do that.

Hey,
thanks!
You bring to mind the line of sight issue. I suppose its strictly decorative.
...or you could call it a camo net option on your heavy team!(among friends of course, say 10 points per?)

The Renegade Ogryn berserkers are done. Sludge puddles were added because I wanted to create the look of chemical wasteland but it looks a bit more like a swamp/marsh theme.

Major fluff being written for this army right now, for now here is a section of that storyline to go along with the chimera mod.One of the most commonly found modified vehicles in the levy/crew is the Echidna (the name comes from the fire breathing mother of the Chimera in ancient legend).
