Really cant decide how to paint up my guard army.

Thinking either a desert style guard army or an army painted up in a snow / ice camo scheme.

Anyone got any good tutorials / examples of guard mini's painted up in these styles?

Mainly looking for some inspiration

I painted mine in a desert scheme. Still need to add camo though.

LoneLictor on thread about an ork choking the Emperor:

I like to imagine the Emperor kills so many Orks that he ends up half buried beneath a pile of corpses, with only his head sticking out. A lone grot stumbles across him, and starts choking him.

Then Horus comes across the lone grot, somehow managing to kill the Emperor, and punts it into space.

I did my Kreig guys in a winter theme. I didn't go for whites or anything on their uniforms, I just based them in snow and made their clothes look 'frosty'. I personally think snow Guard are just awesome, and honestly you don't really see many people with snow-themed armies! Well at least I don't.

Here's an example of my Krieg in their wintery scheme.

Here, try a grey PCU style uniform

its worn by US special forces in Afghanistan in both the snow and desert so it fits with both themes; also multi cam might work as well if you know how to paint it

I'll post up the paints I used later on but its a very simple and practical scheme
