I really like the ones already released and am eager for more.

Harry;5865141 wrote:Well you are in luck then as there are (approx') 18 more done.

This is good news, the plastic character releases are, IMO, the best thing that GW has released this year.

Good material, well detailed, price point set at a level which isn't completely insane... also they give armies that haven't had any new models in 5+ years a little something.

Credit where it's due, and I'm very pleased to see that they'll be going all-out with the releases.

I think it would be The Necrons for 40k.

18 though, that's a buttload. Am looking forward to seeing what we can tinker with.

The first really good thing GW has done in quite some time (talk about damning with faint praise...). I said right when the first four showed up that I hoped it would become a trend.

Now they just need to do a few for 40K (single blister Chaplain and Librarian would be a great start - perhaps even a Warboss in Mega Armour?).

I'd like to see a generic kit like that for all the 40k races, so that you could build a warboss and a big mek, an archon and succubus, farseer and autarch etc etc.

With loads of nifty bitz to add on and upgrade/customise.

The new Blister packed plastic Fantasy characters(like the DE Sorceress, Wraith, Necromancer, etc.). It's a rumor saying 18 more are planned for release.

This is great news.. can't wait to see the new ones and I agree it's one of their best new ideas lately.

The only one I've seen though is the Saurus old blood which was a great model, I just kind of wish they stuck a regular base in the package instead of having the decorative base on the sprue. The base looks good, but that space could have been used for something else like an optional different weapon arm or 2.

I reluctantly support this. The prices are relatively better than comperable failcast options and I prefer plastc over other options. I think this has been a positive move, and can not for the life of me figure out why this has not transferred over to 40K.
Chop Chop. While I would love to see a meganob, it seems a bit big when compared to the fantasy kits that have come before.

Good news

I think though that Harry meant that 18 are planned for release, not 18 this month.

One or two this month would be cool though... Come on BrookM (or other any other obliging dutch person), fill us in!

Considering that we've had consistent rumors of a new edition of 40k by summer, I think its reasonable that there are several of these kind of kits that are ready or almost ready to go and they'll be held for the general
40k release or shortly there after.

Thanks for filling me in on the details.

Are these new sculpts or older ones released in plastic?

So far, all of them have been new sculpts.

I'd like to see a Warrior Priest without ginormous hands (seriously, look at the current warrior priests).

I couldn't agree more, it would be fantastic to have plastic HQ kits with loads of options for all armies. Hell, if they asked me to pay $30 for a really nice plastic Archon kit with a ton of options, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. Maybe I have a problem, though, I want to buy everything of Dark Eldar, especially if it's pretty (the Wracks and Grotesque I could pass on).

These plastic characters are so awesome, it seems as though they were testing the waters with the Storm of Magic plastic characters and liked how big of a success they were. Here's to hoping for some more really awesome kits.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

The new plastic hero models are great looking and certainly affordable at the current $13.25 US pricing if you pick and choose the ones you want. I own a few already. But it certainly adds up fast if you buy a lot of them. Still it beats the minimum $38/each minimum for Ogre Kingdoms characters and many other Finecast sets.

I'd rather see them not do 'generic' characters in plastic, but rather they do special characters like Baron Sliscus or Isabella von Carstein, etc.

The way that they've done these new plastics lends themselves towards them being 'specials' rather than 'generics', as they have very little in the way of options.
