Looking for ideas on how to improve my necrons. I have chosen to go with a paint scheme that is somewhat traditional somewhat not.

I do the bodies in a 1-1 mix of boltgun metal and regal blue.
I do the weapons (and vehicles in the future) in a 1-1 mix of lich purple and boltgun metal.
I paint eyes and regalia on the chest with scorpian green.
Then I wash with badab black
Then I wash around the green areas with thaka green to give it a bit of a glow effect.

Any thoughts or ideas on this scheme? I think these are the best models I have painted to date. Stupid dreadfleet is making me get so much better because its so hard to paint those little ships.

Also looking for ideas on what to do for basing. Should I put gravel and wash it with develan mud? Grass? Dirt? Any good Necron bases from outside companies?

It looks like green and purple to me, which isn't a bad thing. Those colours go well together, and you've done a nice job at putting them together.

Looks good, though I would do some highlights. Try mixing your purple paint with mithril silver and drybrush it on.

Any guides on highlighting? I have not done it before and not sure 100% what you mean by highlighting.

Sideways pictures are likely to be removed from the gallery. Take the photos into Paint and use the "flip/rotate" feature to orient them correctly. Then upload the corrected photos and edit the links in your post.

Looks good, it could use a highlight or two though just to really make it pop.

Perhaps on the scorpion green parts you could use a 1:1 scorpion green:skull white highlight to really give the impression of glowing energy?

Fixed. Didn't realize it. Can use windows picture viewer as well. It was pretty easy to fix that.

I think it's too dark, but I realize photos OFTEN obscure highlights so i'll advise grains of salt.

It seems like there isn't enough contrast on the guns. That purple is nice, but I want to see more of it. Maybe make a brighter version of whatever you mixed there and paint/drybrush the smaller details. The gun has a lot of little wires and things that are perfect for drybrushing.

Yea the lighting is horrible in that room. I tried bringing a light over for a better view. The paint job is dark yes, good idea on the highliting the wires. Would I want to do it without any metal (as that darkens it) or would i want to do mithril silver?

How about Sandy/desert bases? It should contrast nicely with your dark models and make them stand out much more than dark brown/muddy bases.

HIDING IN METAL BAWKSES!

On the vehicles, just make some panels purple, and not the whole thing.

I think that the panels near the bottom would look good in purple.

Yeah i think just a bit of highlighting to bring out their features. The most common/easiest way i've seen people highlight their 'crons is to just continue a few layers of drybrushes gradually building up the colours each layer, whilst every time you brighten your colour be sure to apply a lighter drybrush.
GirlPainting on youtube does a very basic tutorial on youtube found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U468tHCfys
I wouldn't follow that exactly, just take from it what you will in regards to highlighting your 'crons.
