Well I was Commisioned to repaint this Crisus Suit and agreed to do so. Little did I realize that this kid had 3 LAYERS OF PAINT PLUS CAR PRIMER!!!!

I striped it and did the best I could.

Looking Good! perhaps you could add a wash of Delvan Mud or Ogryn Flesh to really bring out the details, but it looks good either way.

Try giving the black a highlight of 1:1 chaos black - codex grey then a fine highlight of pure codex.

I see it does stand out with no highlight on the black. (Know any one interested In haveing a model painted ?) I do Commisions!

Yep! Really makes a difference. I really like the black on the amor plates on the legs.

Very noticeable improvement between the first and last photos. You made good use of the advice you received here. I would suggest you try and tone down the highlighting on the khaki. As is, the lines are a little thick. This is not easy to get right (not for me anyway), but the added effort is worth it for a natural highlight effect.

Nice job considering this model started with 3 coats of paint and primed with car primer. Really brought out the remaining detail on the model.

You've improved much. The only problems I can point out are that the paint is thick (because of the car primer?) and you need thinner and more highlights. Other than that, very good.

Yeah Nate, I saw this model before he painted it and it was really bad. Bottom line it was the car primer.

Thanks for the replies and compliments, yeah I spent an entire day with an exacto modeling knife diging out all the lose primer stuck in all the details. It was really my first highlight job so please excuse the thick higlights. Thanks for posting in here helps publicise the thread.

Your work is very good. You did the model justice buddy. I originally wasn't sure and thought the model looked a little plain until you added the wash and highlights. The highlights and nice and even albiet a little thick. They'd probably look very effective with a thinner, brighter layer in the middle, making a nice sort of fading light effect. The model is fantastic and detailed nonetheless! Great work!

well you certainly brought a model back for good! the scheme is not my kind of dream scheme for tau...but it sure is well executed...the higligts could have been thinner...but i have never tried that by myself so i should keep my lid shut on that

so i guess i think someone should give you more minis to make more rescued minis...unfortunatly i have to yet ruin my modesl before thy might need a rescue by you^^

How much was this commission?

Given the choice I probably would've painted the gun a different colour than that grey as it almost looks unpainted. Also there's a couple of mould lines which is a shame.

Thinking maybe I should start advertising commissions.

Actual, this was a favor for my yonger brother, but I would have charged $40 only because it had a lot of cleanup to do on the modle before the paint job could be done.
