Wicked Canoptek Wraith

UK

Hi,
I'm sure many veteran necron players will have 9 metal wraiths in their army in keeping with the old codex, but as they are now uber deadly and 6 to a squad, people may want more. Ebay prices for the old metal ones are silly and the new ones may be few months away in the 2nd wave. So heres my cheap solution. I've used the spine like attachments that hold the warriors in place on the ghost ark (built mine as a doomsday arc) along with some spare praetorian spines off a bits website and some old warriors I aquired off Ebay a while ago.

Their not the greatest conversions ever, but will do the job until the new Canoptek versions hit the stores. I Guess fluff wise, the old wraiths are just a different discipline of Deathmarks or Crypteks who wanted cool phase shifting bodies.

I did pretty much the same thing using the Doomsday/Ghost Ark so I have 10 wraiths

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

Im not 100% sold on it.
The idea is great, but a few things seem a bit weird to me.

1: I think the poase is making it look a bit off, maybe coiling the tail a bit more or twisting the torso around to make it seem a bit less static?

2: The hands, could do with a more origional wraith like look, so normal arms but with plasticard claws?

3: Just the general skinny look to it.
Need something to bulk it out more, more so around the top of the tail / waist area.

I think im going to use green stuff and pull it very thin and make it look like he has ragged robes on to bulk em a bit

you can also bulk out the "intestines" using guitar string. I like the model except for the hands and the lack of a back plate (the tail just comes out of the spine, and it looks lacking on its back.

With some fixing you could screw GW's official model and just keep this. I think this is brilliant.

EDIT: possible a stinger on the tail? looks out of place being so cunky
