for WoC is a full Marauder army(as in with only Marauders as the core choices) competetively viable?

I did well with it. You need some suport like a hell cannon but other than that I found yes it is.

If you get some nasty killy elites/rares like knights, chosen and/or hellcannon yes this should be nice.

Yes, if you run them in 50+ blocks its a very solid choice. Support them with Choosen and a lord of your choosing they work wonders

Okay, thanks, guys! I always thought an invasion by the northmen would more involve hordes of Marauders and a few Warriors.

There are hordes if both but as in the woc army book the marauders are used as tar pit units as scouts etc.

I would say hellcannon for sure.

Chosen with a warshrine or 2 the army would have some serious story to it.
Cheap units that if they die oh well and then elite killing machines.

I would recommend a sorcerer lord as you general to stop big nasty spells as well as a bsb.

Other than that ya marauders are awesome.

If you really want to go for theme you could do the list I made a while back which was roughly.

Chaos Lord with magic weapon and glittering scales
Lvl 2 fire mage
Bsb with that other suit of magic light armor
50 Lumberjacks
40 Shield Marauders
50 Flailjacks
25 Marauder Calv
Giant

I did fairly well with this and it looked failry cool on the table
