Well they're in Macro and focus so it ain't too bad try using a contrasting background (a coloured paper folder is what I generally use)

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

So how exactly are you painting them? I'd love to give you some advice, but until I know what you're doing I can't say much to help. From what I can tell you're painting red over black, which is a big no-no. Red doesn't cover black well AT ALL. Try priming white, or use GW's foundation paint, Mechrite Red, to build up to a good red. I would also try painting your guns black so there's more variation in your paint scheme.

Try shooting your minis against a white background. Just use a few pieces of paper, and light them with a few desk lamps. All my photography is done that way. This will get clearer, more visible, and brighter photos. Also, never use the flash, but I think you've got that covered.

im not sure about this.... while all the other foundation paints are great, mechrite red somehow only makes a mess on my models; it doesnt cover at all and looks like gloss varnised. hmpf!
could be its just this one pot (maybe its a miscast ), but still id suggest a brown foundation paint rather than mechrite

Or if you're super lazy, use a red foundation/primer spray.

That's what I do for my sisters.
