I wanted to take Vulkan from the special rules as my homebrew space marine chapter as his tactical special is more fitting with my playstyle than the Vanilla combat tactics

The question is does anyone have any ideas how to do a conversion, what i need is
Arm with flamer
Spear/relic weapon
Cloak that looks more like scales.

I have previously attempted to use green stuff and needless to say i won't be trying to do that again.
What i ultimately looking for is a list of components i might find on ebay that would sufficiently represent the model.

And if i do this say i wanted to go to a tournament would i be able to use his as a representantion of Vulkan or do i need the actual model?

Cloak doesn't have to be scales - a storm shield would give a 3++ as well. You could even use someone like a black templar dude with a relic sword and stormshield with built in flamer?

ah cool. Would that be allowed in a tournament as representation?

For my Vulkan, I did use the Vulkan model, however, I gave him the sword hand from some chaos knight from the fantasy realm and also the back pack from this guy:

My Vulkan counts-as, from a sword brethren model:

The shield counts as the cloak there's a hand flamer, and the sword counts as the spear. Never had problems so far.

Here's Klausmasterflex's custom Vulkan:

As long as you hve the three major components, you can go wild!

Here are pics. I know, not the most creativity ever seen, but, hey, fits the rest of my salamanders. My fluff is that they are going insane, slowly.

My Vulkan kitbash:

The scales are small balls of GS flattnened onto the cloak with fingerprints left for texture.
Chaos LasCannon dragon heads on the back pack.
The flamer is an IG smoke launcher third attached to a PF.
The relic blade is a sword bit...anything fancy/unique should work.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
