Hey Guys,

Quick pic of a Big Mek I finished up a while ago for my Bad Moons. Really loving painting Orks, the models are full of character.

Nice work! The base is great, are you doing the whole army like that?

Did you know? The Reach belongs to the Forsworn.

Everything that is painted so far for the army is painted in the same style and based in the same manner. Everything else when I get to it will be painted in that manner.

This is an overall shot of 10 Nobs and a warboss that are all painted. Everything else is still in various stages.

This is some of the best Ork Skin I've ever seen, man. Ever. Great, great job.

The only thing I can say to do is post this on the Dakka Gallery so that I can give you a 10/10 rating.

You made a straight-out-of-the-box miniature look incredibly unique, somehow. I feel like this is a limited-edition miniature. That's talent, plain and simple. My hat's off to you, sir.

It's actually really simple as well, uses all the foundation paints, comes out great when combined with the Bad Moon Yellow.

Thanks! I did put in extra effort in planning the positions of the various spot colours and the colours overall, was an interesting change to apply so much colour theory to the model.

Actually the feedback has kind of inspired me to paint some more, pity I have just packed everything up for my house move :(

I really thing it suits them, sure cartoony orks are great but a dirtier style just plays so well.

I do have some other close up photos of the other Nobs and Warboss somewhere, will hunt them down shortly.

Ah well I was actually given most of these Orks and just kind of went from there, they were just something to paint to have some fun with. So I just kind of grabbed whatever I thought was cool.

So I have the 20 Ork Boyz squad, the 5 Nobs and the Deff Koptas, as well as some Killa Kans, and the Ork Nob with Waagh Banner all sitting around waiting to be touched by the brush.

Found a pic of one the Nobs, well a closer one anyway, probably the most badass one.

Fantastic! Just started a couple Orlando myself. Mostly because of how much character they have, as you yourself said. Did you use a weathering paint or just dry brush browns?

The bases have numerous weathering pigments on them, same goes for the boots and anywhere around that area where they may have splashed.

The rest of the weathering on the model (yellow areas) is all done with paint.

You know, I immediately thought "Wow!" but I couldn't peg any one aspect that stood out above the rest. Turns out, that's a good thing! Eledamris is spot on - I'm sure we've all seen more elaborately painted models, before, but this thing just feels so... perfect. I've seen a lot of KFF Meks, but this one is, by far, my favorite (and there is some pretty stiff competition, mind you).

Thanks for the super kind words, he took a while to get right, seems as though it was worth it.

Very nice... love the bases....

But, are you planning to play with these nobs? You have mounted them on 40mm bases, you will suffer heavely from blast markers and template now when you have them bigger bases.

I don't really have time to play that much, my university studies cut enough into my free time as it is, so normally I only get some time to paint. However, I don't really see how the bigger bases become such a problem for templates etc, they still can sit a the coherency limit like a 25mm base, sure in tighter spaces it will make it worse, but relatively open areas should be fine.

The skin tone is actually quite light (mostly knarloc green) I think the pictures and surrounding colours may dampen it a bit.

Thanks for the compliments as well.
