Okay, so this list got its baptism by fire at The Conflict
GT this weekend. Didn't get any practice games, so it was fresh.
Round 1: Troy Esposito's Grey Knight Purifier-spam. Nasty. Exactly why I brought
BA instead of
CSM.
Mission: spearhead, Seize ground, except no restrictions on where the objectives were placed, and they scattered
3d6".
I got first turn, took up good firing positions, and he castled up his vehicles with Shrouding. Thanks to a tall hill one of my Predators was atop, I got clear
LOS on one of his two Psyflemen and blew an arm off. I managed to pop one or two transports as well, and blew up the other Psyfleman turn 1 or 2. He made a no-guts-no-glory charge up the middle with his landraider full of Purifiers + Librarian to try to recover, but the squad only killed a Rhino and couldn't get the contents, and then I shot them with most of my army. Troy could not buy a cover save for much of the game, and I wound up tabling him in 6. Win +4 (max 24)
Round 2: Mike Demata (sp?); Necrons.
Mission: Dawn of War, Get more scoring units into the enemy half of the table at the end of the game. Units created during game (including combat squads) did not count.
Mike played a good game, had good focus on the mission, and I, inexplicably, forgot about the Monolith's ability to teleport units. Total brain cramp, and it won him the game. He was stomping me anyway, though. Despite my searchlights, his two turns of Solar Pulse and my bad Night-Fight rolls meant my first two turns of shooting netted my approximately 1 dead scarab base and 1 wound on Anrakyr in his barge. Suck. 5pt Loss (min).
Round 3 was (Brother-Captain) James Mahood's Tyranids.
Mission: Spearhead
KPs.
I had a small early lead, then lost it with a foolish multi-charge trying to finish off the last couple of models from two Genestealer squads, and including a Trygon under some brain-damaged impression that its stats were more like a Tervigon's than like, you know, a Trygon.

We wound up with a Draw after 5 turns, 12 pts to 11 in my favor.
Round 4: Lou Branco of the Warmongers with his Iyanden.
Mission: Dawn of War, Table quarters, except only Scoring units could hold, but ANY unit could contest. This mission is almost a guaranteed Draw with most armies, but Lou had a low unit count and I managed to finally beat the Yriel+Wraithguard combo he had beating me up on one half of the table. 23pt Win.
Round 5: Eric Hoerger of the White Scars blog, another Battle For Salvation top-bracket finalist from last year, with his toned and nasty Vanilla marines.
Mission was Capt & Control, except a third objective arrives at the table center at the end of turn 3, scatters
3d6", then
2d6" at the end of 4, then (if the game continues), scatters another 1d6" at the end of 5.
Open table, and Eric took first turn. I Reserved in the face of his firepower and speed, and fought hard, but he has a great list and a lot of skill with it (his fourth
GT using that list, he said). Got a Draw, 10/11 in his favor,
IIRC.
Round 6: Andrew Blackwood, Dark Corsair on Dakka, with Wraithwing Necrons.
Same mission as round 1.
I forced him to take first, and he reserved, as his longest range shooting was 24" and he realized I would get first shot anyway if he deployed. This also let him walk his scoring units directly onto objectives as two of the three had scattered against the same long table edge. My shooting and assault worked well, and his wraiths did not roll good saves. Between my theoryhammer on Wraiths (wanting to run 12 of them in my own planned Necron list) and my experience against them in my Round 2 game against Mike (who had 6), I knew just how much force I had to allocate to the darn things, and was able to overrun them. Wound up with a full 24pt win.
Came 10th overall, in part thanks to generous scoring of my quickie paint job. My teammate Alex Fennell took second Overall with his mixed Necrons, and my good friend Jamie Hatcher wound up in 20th. Our 4th Teammate Matt Cassidy took 2nd on the
WHFB side with his Chaos Daemons. Cold Steel Mercs hoisted the Conflict Cup!
--------------------------
As regards my army list, I'm tempted to swap out the
MM/flamer speeders. They did not have a great event. I also love Fear in theory but unfortunately I only got it to work twice- one each against the two Necron players. Purifiers are Fearless, Tyranids likewise, Wraithguard likewise, and Eric passed all his checks thanks to Stubborn. :(
Next event is Templecon, which is 2k. The easy bump is just to add Mephiston. I might do a little other tweaking.
