Can anyone help me with colours to highlight this blood angel? i started off with a light grey undercoat then a basecoat of blood red. then a full wash of baal red followed by a half wash of devlan mud and water but it still looks flat to me any suggestions?

Start to pick the upper edges out with a little vomit brown or fiery orange.

The highlights look good, I'd suggest darkening the recesses.

Yup....Red is a unique color. To make it look brighter, you actually darken the shadows, otherwise the red starts to push into the oranges and pinks. Dark blues, purples and even greens are all great colors to shade red with.

If you really want to go lighter, you could always grab some Vallejo Florescent Red...
