Pretty good overall for some first works - I would say that you need to get a couple more sizes of ballast and or sand to mix into your basing mix, and then paint it rather than use the base color, but thats me.

Pretty damn good. The washes came out really clean. Work on some highlits and your models will really start to pop out more.

Looks great. I'd give them some more wash, preferably devlan mud (on the metal parts anyhow). That will make them look a little dirty (which I believe suits battle-harden robots) and gives the details more definition, but that is just a matter of taste. Looking at your pictures it does seem as you did this already but I'd make it more obvious, but again, that's a mater of taste and they do look great as they are!

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Yes I do need to fix the basing as I really have no idea how to do it well, atm I'm just putting some glue on the base and dipping the model directly into the only basing material I have, the little rocks. Any tips on how to base better would be mos appreciated!

A really simple and effective looking base technique is base your model with games workshops sand paint it black and then drybrush white over it extremely quick and effective its something i used to do alot when i started and ive only just started using more complex techniques or just check out the games workshop sight they have loads of different basing techniques

I'd start with putting some rubble on the base IE odd bits of scrap plastic manhandled to look like distorted chunks of metal, any small tube that could look like some pipe and so on, whatever you like but not too much (less is more, but that's just me). Then I'd put glue on the base and sprinkle it with some fine gravel and there you have your base, kind of.

One great piece of advice is that you could base the miniature before you glue him onto the base. That way it is easier to get to the edges and he does not look like he is sinking into the sand.

Especially if you like the idea that c0un_z3r0 has put up.

Ah, forgot about that one but yeah that's a great, almost fundamental, advice from zilegil! I always do the basing before I glue the mini on the base. It's also a good thing to fit the mini on the base before you start with the basing, so you'll see where the feet will be and adapt the basing accordingly. It can be somewhat annoying to do a great base only to find that you can't really fit the mini on it in any good way .

Thanks again for all the tips on basing, I will apply them to my next model that I paint and hopefully the result will be better!
