Title kind of says it all. This is purely speculation, just to kind of think about who, if any of them will get an epic incarnation. Personally, I want Shae to get it, because i think he has a LOT of character. But, if i had to guess, i would put my money on it being Ashlyn. She is probably the closest to the canon story of the game, events in Llael are still simmering, and with the siege of the resistance in Wrath, i feel like she has real potential to have her story advanced and to have her become an Epic, any thoughts?

We've had it confirmed by PP that the next epic for the Mercs is going to be Gorten. The question is who the next one AFTER that will be - and given story advancement being a requirement, I think that Malfred has got it right. We'll see either Ashlynn (modest chance) or Magnus3 (huge chance) - the Llael front is heating up, but Magnus has the greatest amount of pans on the stove right now in terms of story.

Speaking of story, I hope we get a continuation of the 2v1 with Kreoss and Daimano vs Terminus that started in Wrath - that will be rather fun to see how that plays out.

Hang on. The third searforge caster coming out this year is Gorten? I'm both "woo hoo!" and "wtf?" I would have loved to have more info about the Rul that could have come from a new caster. But an epic Gorten would be great. SPD 7 dwarf?

I really hope Ashlynn or Shae get it, soon.

If Gorten is it then I might take a look at him for a possible new WC...as long as I like what I see.

These should be it. Gorten's been around longer, but frankly Ashlynn and Magnus are the only ones who have been doing anything worth mentioning ("fighting stuff" and "getting paid" don't cut it, even for mercs, in my mind).

My understanding is that Rhul will receive a third caster before they receive an Epic.

I also wonder if Rhul or Privateers will receive their Plastic heavy first.

Frankly, I would rather see something new rather than an "e" anyone.

Another Thamarite would be nice. Or if they have to "e" someone, do Ash. There has been too much Lael fighting for her not to have a second version or be dead.

There are too many characters in the setting already, in my opinion. There are a few areas that could use more (a third rhulic for larger games, for instance), but I'd be happy if PP released no more than a handful of new characters every few years, at this point. Epics give almost as many options as new characters, but allow current characters more time, instead of adding more characters that are never seen (Amon and his two pages of story in close to a decade, Reinholdt who's never(?) gotten story time outside of Prime, etc.)

Really? Gorten? Epic?

Well, I guess there are worse choices, but I'd really rather see Ashlynn. She's a great character and really REALLY needs a new model. I'm just not a fan of the posing of her mini. I guess I can keep hoping for the next, next new expansion.
