I'm building a ghost ark / dooms day ark.. and i have not glued the Ribs together, but i like to line things up and check things out before i go to gluing things up.. And I noticed as I put the ribs together they don’t seem really squared.. its like its off just a tad kind of like its twisting, but looking at it the ends that are together to build the rib cage is flush all the way around. So was wondering if anyone else ran into this problem and if they did what they do to fix it.. I’ve been going thru and placing the ribs in different order to see if that helps but does not seem to change anything. Will it square up when I glue the gun mounts as I put it together? Kind of on hold until I get this fig out .. do I need to glue it and heat it up and square it that way?
also i primed and painted them so could it be that

I'll post some when i get to the house... i've been searching on line and i guess other people have ran into this.. so not sure what the fix is.. but i've been looking at other peoples arks and they don't look they twisted like mine.. i mean its not bad but i am kind of a perfectionist and notice small things like that.

Sounds like it would bother me too, and I have some ghost arks to assemble myself, if I ever get to them. I don't really know what you're saying though, so that's why I'm asking for pics.

ok .. after i have rearanged these multi time.. 3 ribs line ok just fine.. but three are twisted.. so almost like i have a sprue that wasn't molded properly.. i am thinking my only hope is to "force" aline each one as close as i can get it while gluing them together.. its like the base of the three that is twisted just didn't get molded right.

Both of mine have done the same exact thing, not sure what to do about it, it just seems to assemble that way for some reason.

I had the same problem, but I realized that the ribs fit together to each other flush only one way. Though they look like they can go either way, one way makes them not so flush, which throws off the assembled dimensions. When I turned the ribs around it was perfectly square. Maybe this can help. Good luck!

Sniff .. yeah i have seen the base when flipping these around like that and even when i get the base flushed the right way its still just a tad off on the three ribs.. so guess i'm going to do what i can to aline them up as i glue together idk.. i still might try a little heat from a hair dryer to see if it helps any.. i think it might just be from mass production lol.. i'll keep yall posted on this issue. for future ref .. i'm sure i won't be the last to run into this.

Perhaps it has to do with some slant you created while removing mold lines, or some slanted mold line you didn't remove? Are the faces that need to be glued together flush? You might fix this by filing or adding a very small amount of green stuff to correct the slanted rib.

you know i thought of that PH.. and it is very posible that when i glued the two halfs together to make One rib. that maybe i didn't get it Perfect striaght and now it has caused the rib to be twisted in a since.. i might try trimming the little inside cam part to see if i can't get it to swing back.. might be something to do with that.. it all looks fine, but what might be just .01 degree off at the base by the time it reaches a yard out will be 6' out of alinment.

Necronmike what happened to all your original Necron Raiders? Did the new codex convince you to finally go plastic?

As a general rule in ANY situation. If something is not doing what you want, apply more force! lol

I started playing 40k about 8 to 10 months ago so i never got any metal necrons. Ive got one metal immortal and tomb spyder. I was just getting the hang of the old codex tactics then it all changed but thats ok im still enjoying it. Still not use to swarms not moving like jetbikes but im adjusting

Just a pointer, I've built two Ghost Arks and both are twisted to one side in the joint between the transport section and the pilot... If that makes sense.
I don't know if that's just my poor building skills, but I thought I share some experience

In the end if you're 100% sure you put them on correctly and they still won't fit flush, contact GW, and see if they'll replace the parts. They did a pretty good job sending my buddy a few new pieces that were miscast from the new Command Barge.

Just call em up and talk to em...they run a surprisingly small call center. We had to call twice because the piece didn't arrive, so the guy we talked to the second time got up from his desk and spoke with the guy we talked to first time. Dude had the package under his desk, he forgot to ship it xD. As someone who runs a call center for a living that's an amazingly tight operation.

My ark does this to reguardless of how I add the ribs or in what order. Im putting it down to GW sucking. My mates is the same to.

I think I did fig it out and it's prob a combined problem, if I get time today I'll take pics and dry and explain my theory on it. But the short version is 1 prob a bad mold from GW and not being precise on glueing the two half ribs to make one

holy crap you need to meet him, like that's no kidding what everyone at the store calls him "Necron mike" due to his massive army consisting almost entirely of metal Necron Raiders.

UPDATE !!!
After proceeding to glue everything together and applying a tad more Force..lol. I think it turned out ok and not very noticeable. It was on the table last night giving the nids a hard time and resupplying my warriors unit. He finally blew it up on round 3 but then my 10 warriors hoped out and he was like What ? How many guys you got in that thing..lol.. gosh I love my necrons. They are hard to kill.. however he did manage to sweep advance two of my units. Grrrr damn Ini 2. I’m posting a 1000 point tournament roster on the army list section and will get a link on this page to it.

Just got done pre-fitting my first ark, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of the ribs has a slight twist. It's bad enough that the top of the left rib furthest from the pilot is OVER the central column. I'm going to have to shave off the guide bars to assemble this kit straight.

dryfitting + proper application of force + reinforcement while gluing = profit

you might try putting the ribs in different order, i know some times that makes a difference. and turning them around so you have to look really close to the connecting ends and one side is a tad different then the other side ( the central column ) look at it closely and you can see the differnce and try and get them pointing the same direction

Looks like youll be busting out the rubber bands when gluing that together.

Did all this, made no difference. Just a horrible kit.
